Ingegerd was having a wild night. As in browsing the Internet while slightly tipsy. Wearing black sweatpants with her tail free, hair defying gravity and a large chocolate bar and a bottle of wine next to her, she was the closest she could come to happiness.
The room was dark and the curtains closed, the only light coming from the lamp at the computer desk. The interior was as reserved as its owner with fading blue wallpapers and not one speck of dust on the well-used furnitures. The only item separating the place from a hotel room was a photo on the bedside table of Ingegerd at age one, sitting in her mother's lap with her father next to them. He was smiling largely, arm around his mate who looked like she'd just sucked on a lemon. Ingegerd herself was sucking on her thumb, looking horrified of the camera.
The adult version of that little girl had worked hard all night on a costume based on a painting by the fairy artist Brian Froud, and on a whim decided to spend her hours before bedtime googling fairies. It was amazing how many people there were out there who actually believed they existed. It truly was sad how some persons turned to delusions like that to cope with life.
She carefully pushed aside any attempts her logical side made to point out the irony of that observation.
Finding a chat room, she decided to have some conversation. She sniggered to herself when choosing her handle. Alright, it was trolling (and again dodging the irony), but as long as she wasn't rude and kept her arguments on a reasonably intelligent level no-one was really suffering from it.
Trollgirl: Is there anyone here who's actually ever seen a fairy?
