The Handler
Name: General Vryntil Imornthi.
Nickname:
Classification: Elf.
Gender: Male.
Age & Birthday: Ageless, like the rest of his race.
Sometime in the human month of December.
Appearance: Because his people live deep underground, they are much paler than other clans of Elves might be, if that is even possible – but not only are they paler in their skin, but their hair and eyes as well. Their eyes have been adapted for living underground, they can see perfectly in the dark or at night, but in the day time… Let’s just say the sun isn’t their friend. Their eyes are very sensitive; some of their people have gone completely blind from looking at the sun.
The General is very well built for obvious reasons, and he stands rather tall as well (about 6'2") – he looks very threatening to say the least. His hair is shoulder length and purely white – and his eyes, of course, are nearly completely white was well, though his pupils are a very light shade of blue. He always seems to have a very serious look on his face, though when he is angered (which happens very easily), his scowl can make most cower - however, when he is feeling particularily pleasent, he can actually smile.. Though it is a bit creepy.
Last, but not least – because of a birth defect, Vryntil’s spine is completely exposed, and rather mutated. He tries to keep it covered, but it is rater noticeable if he doesn’t have his shirt on
Attire: Vryntil is not one to care for style or appearence - he cares about efficiency and how it will benefit him. If it will benefit his fighting, or make him look more intimidating... He will wear it. You will most always find him in his battle garb, but in the off moment you might catch him in robes for the purpose of casting a Necromancy spell, or if he’s resting.. Which is rare. He dresses very darkly, but his clothes are very light in weight to allow him to fight better and more accurately. The battle garb itself consists of mainly leather and animal hide - straps and ties to keep it in place, dark metal plates when he is actually in combat. His back is gaurded quite a bit, with a specially fitted black plate made of the thickest (and magically charmed) metal.
The Creation
Name: General Imornthi.
Power List:
[x]Necromancy.
[x]Black magic.
Detailed Power: From the moment he was born, Vryntil was trained in magic by his mother, and in combat by his father. He has continued both practices ever since – and is very skilled in the both of them. He, just like his father, specialized in Necromancy, the magic of the dead. He can bring the dead back to life, and use them for what he wishes. However, this does require a lot of energy and time, and will only use this as a last resort. He will use various smaller spells on occasion – and does enchant his blade sometimes to further his fighting power.
Because of his Necromancy, he has been trained in dark magic - he knows the right spells, incantations, and potions that allow him to summon the dead. He has also dabbled in Umbrakenesis, the ability to manipulate darkness and shadow, but it does not benefit him too much in his fighting, and therefore, he does not use it too often.
The Potential
Alignment/Occupation: Nuada’s Army.
Weapons: He uses a special sword – one that is not only a sword, but also a whip. He can use it as a sword, yes, but one press of a button, and it extends into a whip – metallic and very sharp. He made it himself, and he is very proud of it. When he is not using that though, he has numerous daggers hidden inside his clothes.
Personality:When in battle, or dealing with a serious situation, Vryntil is your typical ‘military man’. He is very demanding and harsh – and you will do what he says, when he says it, or else. He isn’t afraid to dole out punishment as he sees fit, and it is best to stay out of his way if he is even the slightest bit annoyed. He has a very short temper, if you say or do one thing wrong… You better start running.
A garunteed way to piss him off is to mention his weaknesses - most importantly, his spine. It has caused him more than a few problems over the many years of his life, and he still hasn't fully overcome such problems, as much as he hates to admit it. Stemming off of that, never tell him that he is too old to be the General, or too old to be fighting. Yes, he is a 'mature' Elf, and it is true that most Elves his age would already be retired from any sort of combat position, and be on the Council or something of the like - but he is going to put off such a thing for as long as he can. Because of his superious physical shape, he does not see the need in retiring now.
But, when he is out of battle, or it is just a ‘normal’ situation, he can be ‘nice’ if he wants to be. Of course, there is usually some sort of motive behind his actions, so if he’s being nice to you… Be suspicious. He is very eloquent and his voice is very deep and soothing in nature, and he can usually convince most everyone to do what he wants through persuasion.
Likes:
He is very fond of his sword-whip, which he made himself (as he makes quite obvious when someone asks), and has a small side-hobby in making unique weaponry. Sometimes, he simply enchants a previously made blade to make it more powerful, or makes simple modifications so the blade can be laid with poison or something of the like. He is always thinking up new ways to kill people and win battles. And there is nothing in life he loves more than battles, and combat in general. He will pick fights, sometimes without thinking of the consequences, as long as it will benefit him in some way. And if it does not benefit him, he will be very angry. He hates not getting his way - and when he does get what he wants, he will be a (relatively) happy Elf.
Dislikes:
Being an Elf General, having fought in the war between the mythical beings and the humans, he hates humans like no other (except for Prince Nuada, as much as he dislikes that fact). He despises them for various reasons - taking the mythical beings' land, forgetting that the mythical beings even exist - but mainly because of their combat choices. Humans have no sense of honor, and will not fight fair if they know they will lose. While the General does fight dirty sometimes, he will not fight a person one-on-one if they have no weapon, and does hold respect for a fallen adversary.
Along with humans, he hates all those who betray their own people to support them - not to name names, but... Princess Nuala. While he might hold affections to her, he finds her betrayal most disappointing, and is keen on bringing her back to their side. And he will succeed - if its the last thing he does. He will have his way... No matter what.
Fears:
Above all, the General fears losing the war, in the end, to the humans. While it might seem like the humans have won - they haven't.. Not yet. The mythical beings have just had a temporary set back, that is all... Soon, they will rise again, and crush the human race - regaining what is rightfully theirs! And if that happens (though the General is positive it will not), Vryntil will not allow himself to be killed and disgraced by a human if they win.. He would rather take his own life than have that happen. That doesn't mean he doesn't fear death, though... Because he does. He just chooses not to show it, for obvious reasons.
Skills: He is a master of persuasion – he has quite a way with words, and perhaps there is some magic behind it – but he is very good at convincing people to do what he wants them to do. His fighting skills, of course, are exceptional, and he is also very good at war strategies and battles plans. While he does despise humans, seeing as how he has already read all the books there is in the Elven realm on war, he has even gone so far as to read a human one - The Art of War, by Sun Tzu. He enjoyed it very much, and it did give more than enough understanding about the human ideas behind war.
Strengths:
As far as fighting goes, he is an incredible fighter and warrior – thus gaining him the title of General in his clan – he is skilled both with weapons, and with his body in hand-to-hand combat. Not only is he good in fighting physically, but mentally... He can convince practically anyone to do anything. He can beat almost anyone in a battle of wits, simply by his quick thinking and wise comments, and it does help that his voice is a soothing one - that can get past someone's guard, and get inside that person's mind... He loves messing with the mental state of others, and is, as a personal favorite comedian of mine would say, a 'brain ninja'.
Weaknesses:
His spine has always been a weakness, whether he likes it or not. From the day he was born, and his parents saw such a thing, he was almost put to death - as the belief is that children born with any sort of defects will not amount to anything, and bring disgrace upon their family. But, thanks to his mother, he was spared - but that did not make life easy. As he was meant to inherit the position of General from his father - he not only had to train just as harshly as his father had, but even more so, to overcome his physical defect.
Now, even if he is the General and has seemingly overcome any and all obstacles, it still does bother him that he can never have such a thing fixed. One hit to his back, and he will be down - hence the heavy armor he wears to cover it - and that has only ever happened once, and that hit had him near death, and recovering for quite some time. That attack has made him a bit paranoid... Though he tries not to show it.
The General, being a very ...passionate man, also has a very short temper. One smart remark, or disagreement towards him - and he will be on you like white on rice. He has gotten a bit better lately, trying to hold in all of his anger and annoyance until he really needs those emotions to come out - but since working personally with Prince Nuada... Those emotions do come out quite a bit more, because of their obvious dislike for each other.
The Story
History: Vryntil was born to a General of the Morlock army – and, of course, carried in his father’s footsteps. His mother was the sister of the Queen, which earned him a place as a Lord as well, but he didn’t want to spend all his time sitting around in a throne room, he wanted to fight! He fought alongside the Bethmoora clan, as well as others, in the war against the humans.
Now, during this war with the humans, Vryntil spent quite some time on the Bethmoora clan’s land, him and his family – the King of the Morlocks and the like – often came to discuss tactics, have feasts, and the like with them. During that time, he had set his eyes on the one and only Princess Nuala. He had known her since she was very, very young – and though he was a great deal older than her, it was about time she was going to be married off, right?
He tried to talk her father, King Balor, into allowing him to marry her – but her father always denied him, said that she was too young. He attempted to confront Nuala about it as well, but she hid behind the excuse that her brother would not approve of it – which he didn’t. Vryntil and Nuada had clashed more than a few times over this situation.
When the truce with the humans was struck, though, Vryntil was not very happy with that in the least bit – and heard the rumors that Nuala had supported it – which, of course, caused him to grow angry at her for quite some time. But, when Nuada went into self-imposed exile, he forgot such a thing, and still tried to pursue Nuala’s hand in marriage.
Many years passed, and Nuala still showed no interest to him – but Vryntil is very determined. He has backed off quite a bit, but there is always a thought in the back of his mind of Nuala.
After the news came to the Morlock clan that Nuada had returned from exile, killed his father, and attempted to wage war with the humans – well, that sent nearly all the Elves into panic and dismay. Vryntil prepared his troops, just in case the war did come – but he was really hoping it did. Though, if Nuada succeeded with the Golden Army, there wouldn’t really be a point in having his troops, but… He was ready for battle none the less.
But, most unfortunately, Nuada did not succeed – but Vryntil soon heard that he was going to try again, this time with the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann – and he has been gathering alliances with any magical creature he can. Vryntil found Nuada, and joined his cause – and is now one of his ‘right-hand’ men, even though they still don’t see eye to eye – and neither of them have forgotten about the fact that Vryntil still wants Nuala’s hand in marriage… He tries not to mention that so much around Nuada, though.
