The Handler
Name: Winifred Courtney Pryce.
Nickname: Fred or Freddy – she prefers to be called either of these. She despises the name ‘Winifred’. Honestly, who names their kid that?
Classification: Werewolf/Lycanthrope.
Gender: Female.
Age & Birthday: June 6, 1990 – 19 years old.
Appearance: Fred’s most noticed feature would be her figure. She stands at about 5’8”, on the tall side for a female, but it is her extremely muscular figure that gains attention. Now, I’m not talking female-body-builder-buff, but buff enough to been noticed. This was gained from both her nearly life-long training in gymnastics, as well as her Lycanthropy. It does bug her a bit that her biceps, thighs and calves are bigger than some men’s – but she does enjoy the 6 pack and ability to threaten people with her strength.
As far as basics go – hair, eyes, etc. – Fred is a unique looking girl. Her eyes are a mixture of green and brown, more formally known as hazel, and are very.. intense. They are very expressive, and her default look is almost a glare. She has a very pointed nose, which she isn’t fond of because she thinks it gives her a snooty, holier-than-thou type of look – and she isn’t like that. Her hair is light brown, naturally highlighted by her genes and the sun. Her complexion is pretty tan, seeing as how she does spend a lot of time outdoors.
Attire: Fred is the epitome of a tomboy. She prefers baggy, comfortable clothes over tight, skanky clothes any day. Most of the time, she wears pants made for men – baggy shorts are her favorites. She is partial to band t-shirts, and other tops that mean a lot to her, such as an old, raggedy paint-stained sweater from a hilarious experience with her friends, or her cap that she got from her dad when she took baseball for a bit when she was younger. When she is training for gymnastics, or exercising, she wears a sports bra… And generally the same bottoms. She isn’t really partial to the leotards and such, but she’ll wear them if she must for competitions and meets. She won’t wear nothing pink and sparkly though.
The Creation
Name: Freddy Pryce.
Power List:
[x]Lycanthropy.
[x]Heightened senses.
[x]Superhuman strength.
Detailed Power:
Lycanthropy: She is a very immature werewolf, she was only bitten three years ago, when she was 16 years old. Her first transformation, as it is for most, was horrible – and it still is, not as bad as the first time, but.. Still pretty excruiciating. She does not have control over her lycanthropy like some older, more experienced werewolves do – and it is controlled, of course, by the full moon, as well as her emotions. Now, just because she’s angry doesn’t mean she’ll go all ‘Hulk’ on you and turn into a full blown werewolf. But, when she does get angry or feels any other intense emotion, she will take on more… wolf-like qualities. Her fingernails and teeth will grow sharper, her eyes will take on a more bright, golden color, and her hair might get a bit longer… But she hasn’t gone ballistic and bitten anyone.. yet.
When she does turn into a ‘full’ werewolf, she has little to no control over her emotions and actions – there is a tiny voice inside her head trying to scream not to kill or hurt others – but the conscience is overwhelmed by pure animal instinct. In her wolf form, she appears to look like a large, two-legged wolf – with a coat color the same as her hair when she’s in her human form, and golden eyes that are filled with animalistic hunger. Her claws are extremely sharp, as are her teeth, and like most werewolves, she is very muscular – perhaps even more than most, because of her already muscular nature in her human form.
Heightened senses: Even in her human form, she does have senses that are more finely tuned than the normal human – particularly hearing and smell. It does get annoying, she hates going to the gym and smelling all the sweaty old guys, or going into a public bathroom and smelling….Well, you know. Hearing does get bad, too, hearing sirens does give her a bit of a headache – and while she does love music… When she hears rap blasting from a car when she’s walking down the street, she sometimes actually puts ear-plugs in her ears. Or, she just listens to her MP3 player… On the lowest level she can, because sticking those new-fangled ‘earbud’ headphones could blow her ear drums out if its too loud.
Superhuman strength: Of course, this is more prominent in her lycanthrope form, she can probably lift up to two-three hundred pounds with ease in such a form… And then it gets hard. In her human form, she can lift up to about 150 pounds, if that, until it starts getting really hard. This does come in handy with her gymnastics though, and has helped her win a few competitions… But don’t tell anyone.
The Potential
Alignment/Occupation: Unaffiliated… For now.
Weapons: Mainly, her own body. But, put a gun in her hands, and she can do some damage.
Personality: Fred is the queen of the rebels. She has that typical ‘screw-society’ personality – complete with sarcastic remarks, an ‘I-don’t-care’ attitude, and the style to match. She loves messing around, whether it’s just for fun, or to get back at someone – she is quite the master at practical jokes. However, despite the attitude that ticks some people off, she is a very good, loyal friend to those she cares about, and can always make those few smile with her wise-cracking jokes and the like. She is also one for ‘physical’ joking – like a playful punch, slap, or kick here and there… Even though sometimes she puts more strength into it than she means, which ends up in a few bad bruises… But nothing too serious has happened yet.
The part of her that most don’t see is her truly emotional side, what she expresses when she’s all alone… She’s one of those girls who will hold it all in until she finally explodes – whether it be from anger, sadness, or anything of the like. If she’s really mad at someone, she won’t hold back punching them in the face, kicking them in the shin, etc. Amazingly enough, being a ‘tough girl’ on the outside, she does cry quite a bit… Mostly about the same thing – her… ‘illness’. She hates that it screwed up her life, and she would give anything not to be what she is, but she knows there is nothing she can do about it – which sparks tears, mostly at night. If anyone ever catches her though, she’ll just wipe those tears away and pretend that she got sometime in her eye or allergies or one of those excuses.
Likes: Gymnastics is what she loves, of course, so that goes without explanation. Besides that, since she has been turned, she has found an affinity for raw meat, even when she’s in her human form… Which she tries to hide as best she could. She does eat ‘regular’ food, but it just doesn’t taste as good as it used to. Something that hasn’t changed since her turning is her love for music – she prefers metal, rock, classic rock… All that good stuff. She is a strong believer in that rap+country=crap. All in all, Fred is a fan of comfort… Comfort foods, comfort clothes, comfort music.. All that good stuff.
Dislikes: Being a gymnast, she has a natural hatred for cheerleaders – who she believes took the sport of gymnastics and turned it into a horrible, short-skirt wearing popularity contest. On a more deeper level, she holds an immense hatred for the werewolf who decided to attack her on that life-changing night, and has one of those personal vendetta’s/goal in life to make him pay – but she has no idea who he (or maybe even she) is… So she’s sort of given up on that for now. Also, on a random note, she dislikes seafood. This is mainly due to her newfound, heightened sense of smell… She didn’t like the smell of it when she was human, but could still eat it when she really wanted to, but now… She just can’t do it.
Fears: Though she won’t admit it, she fears being confronted by/confronting the werewolf who turned her. She wishes she could have the strength to go and find him/her no matter the costs, stand up to them, and get her revenge.. But she is afraid of what that might hold. She is also afraid that this werewolf, or anyone else for that matter, might attack her family. Even though she has been forced to leave them, she does check up on them every so often – without them knowing it, of course.
Skills:
Her most developed skill would be her gymnastics. She started in gymnastics when she was four years old, and has been one ever since. She was nationally ranked at age twelve, and has been an elite gymnast ever since. Her goal was to make it to the Olympics… But that was shattered when she was attacked and turned into a werewolf. Anywho. She is most skilled in floor gymnastics and bars, though beam and vault are close runner ups. Because of her gymnastics training, she is of course, very muscular, and is a decent fighter.
Because her father was in the military, and took her shooting quite a bit, she is a good sharpshooter as well. Firing main her father’s modified AR-15, with a 16 inch sniper scope, she could shoot a bull’s-eye from 300 yards away. She hasn’t had any practice in three years, since she was turned and was forced to leave her family, so she might be a little rusty.. But put a gun in her hands, she’ll probably be able to do some good (or bad) with it.
A very developed skill of hers is… pissing people off. She is very good at pinpointing a person’s weakness, and picking at that with jokes and sarcasm until they crack. She won’t push a person too far most of the time, she just likes to joke, but when she really doesn’t like someone, she will go that far.
Strengths:
Her physical strength is the most obvious - but besides that, she has various other things she is 'strong' in. For one, she's very determined and persistant, and will stop at nothing to get what she wants - or help a friend/family member/etc. She will do anything and everything for those that she cares for. Also, though some might not consider this a strength, she is a master at putting on a pity party for herself - and getting money from people on the streets - by either just looking pathetic and holding out a cup for change, or sometimes, playing her guitar (she isn't too good, but that just makes people feel more sorry for her!)
Weaknesses:
Her family is her number one motivation... And weakness. If anyone were to get ahold of them, they would be able to get Freddy to do whatever they want her to if they threatened her family's life. Also, being controled by the curse of the werewolf is a weakness, as she has little to no control over her actions when it happens, and afterwards, she needs a few days to recooperate. Also, living on the streets does make a person the slightest bit jealous and greedy - and this has driven Freddy to stealing/pick-pocketing a few times. This makes her feel incredibly guilty, and when she sees someone whose wallet is about to fall out of their pocket, she has to resist the urge to do what she wants...And some times, she is forced to give in, if she's feeling particularly hungry, or wants to buy a new pair of shoes, because hers have holes in them. Living on the streets does leave her more than hungry on a few days, and this weakens all of her abilities, almost to the point where she's back to being truly human. At least, she likes to think of it that way - trying to see the upside of starving.
The Story
History:
Born to a middle-class family in New York City, Fred had a relatively normal life. With two parents that got together pretty well for a couple living in New York City in today's times, and a younger brother by two years, she was pretty happy with her life. She was enrolled in gymnastics at the age of four after seeing the Olympics once on TV, and has loved ths sport ever since. And don't you dare say its not a sport... It is. She'd like to see anyone who says its not do what she does, and live to talk about it.
As the struggles of modern life got harsher, the failing economy and the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, her father (being in the military) was unfortunately shipped off to Iraq, leaving their resturaunt managing mother to be the main soure of income. Gymnastics, at the level of training Fred was doing when all of this was happening (she was about 12, just becoming an elite gymnast), was very expensive - but her mother tried her best to pay for it, as she knew it was her daughter's dream to go to the Olympics.
Unfortunately, when Fred turned 13, she was forced to give up gymnastics, because they simply could not pay for it. That's when Fred started to become the rebel that she is now - blaming her parents for forcing her to give up her life's dream. She spent as much time away from home as she could, trying to find a job (which, at the age of 13, was very hard) to pay for her training.
A few weeks before her fourteenth birthday, a miracle seemed to happen. A small gym opened in New York City, and they came to her, after finding out that she was already a nationally ranked gymnast, and couldn't afford to pay for her training, they offered to pay for it for her. Of course, Fred took the offer up immediately - though her parents were a bit skeptic - they finally allowed her to do it.
The next two years were good for Fred, she was doing what she did best - and for free! Good things never last though, and Fred found that out the hard way. One day, walking home from the gym, she couldn't help but feel like she was being... watched. It was an eerie feeling, one she couldn't shake. Confident that she could defend herself if she needed to, she ignored the feeling, and was but a few blocks from hom... When she was attacked. All she remembers was something grabbing her from behind with claws that dug into her shoulder, being dragged into an alleyway, a sharp pain on her neck... And then darkness.
She awoke in a hospital, in more pain then she could have imagined, bandaged almost head to toe. From what the doctor's told her, she had been mauled by a dog - and her coach, who happened to be leaving the gym at around the same time - fought the dog off, and saved her. She was going to live, with more than a few permenant scars, and she was supposed to be okay.
Two weeks later, just after she had been discharged to go home, she found out that the doctor's didn't have a clue. That was her first full moon - which started with a painful transformation, and ended with her almost killing her family. She had been just about to burst into her room and attack her little brother when the clouds thankfully shielded the moon from view, and she was able to control herself enough to pack as much as she could, and run from her house - not knowing what else to do.
She went to the person she trusted most, her coach, and told him what had happened in hysterics. Remarkably enough... He believed her with little hesitation. He promised her that he would still train her, in secret, and not tell her parents where she was. And he has been doing so for the past three years, while she tries to remain as independent and distant as possible. She lives mainly on the streets, sometime mooching off of soup kitchens and shelters, other times sleeping on a park bench (unless it is a particualrly cold night, she'll go hang with her coach) - and hiding her secret from anyone and everyone.... Except her coach. Little did she know, he was the one who did this to her in the first place. She hasn't put two and two together yet - how he just so happened to be the one to find her... The one to understand and take her in... Maybe it will click in her mind sooner or later.
Freddy has given up hope on going back to her parents - she does check up on them from afar, sometimes just watching their house from the distance, seeing them eat dinner or something of the like... It has been three years, so she has assumed they have stopped looking for her... Though she most certainly does remember the 'missing' posters with her face plastered all over them.
