THE HANDLER
NAME: Andon Xund
CLASSIFICATION: Spirit - Formally Dark Elf
GENDER: Male
AGE & BIRTHDAY: Unknown - Timeless Perhaps, like his brethren. Born the first day of winter.
APPERANCE: Andon's true form is that of a silvery swirling mist. It whips around in constant motion, as though being blown around by some unseen wind. The mist generally will take the form of a elven figure, and is always concentrated around a small intricately crafted golden cog. The mist can retreat entirely, leaving not but that fancy golden cog, but cannot move independently of it. It is for this reason the cog has been placed into a clockwork magical humanoid shell.
This shell stands a normal height of roughly 5’11”. And that is perhaps all that is normal about it. Andon's frame is that of a series of complex cogs and machinery, constantly in motion, and all of it covered by a hard multi-segmented crystalline shell. The crystal shell is clear and smooth like glass, but far harder. It overlaps like plate armor, though carries more components. Andon’s face is smooth, with no definitions to indicate where he is looking, or how he speaks. His inner workings are complex at even their most simple, and looking at them gives no hinting to how exactly Andon functions. The machinery is gold in color, and in constant immaculate condition. It runs seemingly quite slow, pistons, gears, and cogs in constant quiet motion. When Andon is thinking, however, the the machinery seems to speed up, and it's normally quiet work gets quite a bit louder. When agitated Andon has trouble maintaining his silvery spirit in his cog, and his shell fills with the silver smoke. The mist seems to boil out of the figure, and Andon looks, literally, quite steamed.
ATTIRE: Andon dress sense can be compared to that of a polite gentleman of the Victorian era. He wears nice fine shirts covered in vests and then some sort of coat. He never wears hats or anything of the sort, choosing to not hide his “face.” His clothes are well manicured, all of them look brand new, day in and out. The colors of his clothes range from blues to blacks with different shades of red, white and gold as accents.

THE CREATION
NAME: None
POWER LIST: Magical Inventor, Enchanter
DETAILED POWER: Andon Xund spent the majority of his free life as an inventor for the Dark Elves. Metal and magic speak to him like they did to the Goblins, and he worked tirelessly to create more and more fantastic creations. As such he has the capability of crafting complex magical machinery including mechanical animals and mechanical men. He can make them swiftly and efficiently, and while he has never been able to replicate the immorality of the Golden Army, he has created imitation variants of naturally occurring things - such as a giant spider's poison, or a dragon's fiery breath.
A modest list of his creations at the time before his "resurrection" included:
Clockwork Knights/Bowman/Pikemen
Clockwork Drakes, Horses, Wargs, and Giant Spiders
Steamwork Wyverns and Dragons
The list here is scaled for time and difficulty. It's takes far longer to create a functioning Steamwork Dragon than one of the Clockwork mounts or soldiers.
Andon also carries a marked knowledge of magic, which he uses to enchant his creations. It is practical only in this sense, he knows how to imbue an artifact with an attack spell, but not particularly how to cast it normally. His enchanting capability is vast, but not every one of his creations receives every one of his possible enchantments. The generic soldiers generally receive strength and speed augmentation along with limited intelligence to form a sort of networked hivemind. The Dragons and Wyverns, however, receive far more, including resistance to elements, and complex protection spells to prevent the actual removal of the enchantments. Andon has the capability of creating intelligent creatures, but does so sparingly. He has created three in his lifetime, two of which he had to destroy himself.
THE POTENTIAL
ALIGNMENT/OCCUPATION: Nuada's Army
WEAPONS: Andon carries an old dark elf sword on his side and his hands and legs have retractable claws (which are primarily used for climbing)
PERSONALITY:For all his time alone, Andon Xund is polite as polite could be. He’s charming and calm, well aware of his inhuman visage, and it is rare that he looses his temper. He went mad long ago, trapped alone. That madness took him, and then finally left him. He is disconnected from life in all ways: emotion, hunger, tiredness, all of it. He still maintains a sort of charming demeanor in his language, something he carries over from his life in flesh, but something is off. He has all the right words, but his voice is hollow, cold and empty like an echo in a metal tunnel.
Andon finds machinery very interested, and when studying or thinking on it he becomes clearly excited. His machinery speeds up, and he will quietly trace the object of his interest with his cold crystal and metal fingers. Andon has been lost to the world for an achingly long time, and the new inventions of man are incredibly fascinating to him, were he given any, he would be lost in work for some time.
The only thing that seems to irritate Andon, is biology. He sees flesh forms as a weakness that he fortunately no longer has to be bothered by. Necromancers, doctors, and any others that labor in flesh are disgusting to him. His own work, and that, are the only things could be found arguing about.
For the most part, however, Andon simply is, and he allows others to simply be.
He does not hate those he makes war against - the humans, beyond the fact that they are weak flesh creations. He does not curse them, he does not wish them pain, he simply accepts that he must make war and kill them. Humans are a sickness, a blight on the magical world, and he will see them end.
SKILLS: Beyond his aptitude with mechanical items, Andon has no other skills. It could be assumed that presented with new, modern day machinery, he could eventually discover how to update his work.
STRENGTHS: Andon is a genius, but he is focused on the creation of his magical artifacts. His genius could touch on a great many other things, but he chooses for it not to. He knows magic, but nothing that is used outside his work. His mechanical body does not tire, and is strong and agile - though no more than a common elf. He has received training in swordplay, but does not excel. He would be better than someone untrained, however.
WEAKNESSES: Andon's limited focus and hollow life is more than a weakness. He is not immortal, and could be killed if the golden cog housing his soul was destroyed.
THE STORY
HISTORY: Ages ago, Andon Xund was a Dark Elf, a dark creature that looks more like a human than other creatures in the fantastical realms. The dark elves have pointed ears, darkly beautiful features, a wonderful aptitude for dark magics, and a love of both Spiders and poison: the more deadly the better. This love for dark things, and ambition that grew in the Dark Elves hearts led them to hold a scant few wars against mankind - though they were defeated each time by both the humans and the magical creatures aligned with them. At the end of the last war, the Dark Elves were all presumed destroyed. The Queen vanished, their greatest generals killed, and those that had been captured finally punished for their crimes.
Andon Xund was one of those captured. In his flesh life, a life far before the drow‘s cursed black skin, life far before the majestic underground cities…Andon was a jewel in a dark sea. He was beautiful and handsome, his smile could cause the melting of even the iciest heart, and amongst his people there was a great clamor for him.
But Andon didn’t care for all that, he did not want to cultivate his beauty, or his charm…only his mind. So interested was he in the workings of magic and machine, and so charming was his personage, that he was given his own study and full free reign to work - something unheard of for men in the Dark Elf community.
Andon worked for a great many seasons, slaving away as he mastered both magics and machines - eventually learning how best to fuse the two. He was at his highest point when the Drow went to war - Xund…now Master Andon Xund, was given the task of heightening the numbers of the armies with his own clock and steam-work automatons. And as the war dragged on, the more complex they became. Where first he began with clockwork soldiers, he inevitably came to coal burning giant spiders, and steam-work dragons.
But the Drow were no match for the combined might of the Allied Armies…and so they fell. Their queen vanished, their forces scattered, and their forms cursed, the drow were forced underground - never to bother the lands again…until eventually they reunited and rose again.
Andon’s mechanical forces swept the land, and for a time it seemed that the Dark Elves might have their dark empire…but again it was not to be.
As it all ended, Andon was captured, most of his people dead, and his machines locked away. He put upon trial, a farce, a mockery, and sentenced not to death, but to imprisonment. Andon’s soul was ripped from it’s beautiful shell, forced into the tiniest golden cog, and then thrown away into a deep, dark, pit…were he would be forced to sit for many a lifetime.
Years passed.
And more.
And more.
Until finally, with great luck, his tiny cog was found by an old enemy. The great Prince Nuada of the Silverlance. Prince of the highest Elven Kingdom. But Nuada came to Andon no longer as an enemy, but as an ally. He wove a brilliant tale, that as time wore on, the humans and Elves broke their alliances - and entered into wars. He told Andon of the beauty of the Golden Army, and of the foolishness of the King. And finally, he told Andon that their world was shrinking, dying to the murderous, ignorant might of the human empires. Andon would hear no more. Enemies, allies, it made no difference - the humans had always been the threat, had always been the great destroyer…of course Master Andon Xund would take up arms against them.
Prince Nuada returned the tiny golden cog to a great vault, where Andon’s creations, too beautiful to destroy, had been kept - and Andon was placed inside one of his mechanical soldiers, and sent once again to work, crafting a new army for his new Prince.
