As of today, Saturday Oct. 25th, Rowan and Levi will no longer be a part of BPRD.

I was under the impression that carrying a character that was NOT inactive was against the board's rules. Seeing a moderator break the board's rules does not inspire me with any confidence in this board. I am considering leaving as well.

Alright, I can't really say a lot here as I haven't been around due to being sick, but really now.

I think we all need to take a step back and rethink things a little.

I think this could have been handled in a completely different way, as to where both parties would have come out of it feeling better and without anyone leaving the game.

I think this was just a misunderstanding on the Mods part - and I really think we should have been talked to - merely to find out what happened.

We're not horrible people to work with and we actually TRY working with our writers.

So hopefully we'll be able to work this out.

First, lets back this drama bus up. Ben I received your email and I’m extremely bothered by it. I’m not going to make excuses and attempt to cover anything up, I am going to tell you and the whole board the truth and that it is just a simple case of misunderstanding on my part. My staff does not make a move unless it is passed by me. So if you or anyone else feel the need to be mad at anyone, let it be me.

You expressed interest in the other mission, switching Levi with Rowan. That simply did not work and perhaps I should have explained it further but as an admin, I wanted you as a player to break from Oriana and let your character grow and expand. This is a RPG, it is not rainbow and sunshine 24/7 and like every day real life situations, your character is going to be placed in situations that do not play in their favor. The ability to do this is a sign of a mature Rper to me.

The reason the switch did not work was Levi was team leader of the Poltergeist thread. Rowan would have been in the same situation power wise in the other thread. I also gave you the option of letting Rowan stay behind at the Bureau and replacing him with an NPC agent until we could actually fill it with a real character. You gave no answer to that, so I assumed by no answer that meant you didn’t want to do that. I did not ignore your opinion about switching, I thought it about but I as an admin made the choice to keep the teams as is.

I misunderstood you that when you stated the switch, it meant that or nothing at all. Sadly Ben when this cropped up, instead of coming to the staff to talk about it, you bowed out and immediately thought the worse. You left several threads in a lurch without your characters and I am frustrated by that. However it is my fault and I apologize Ben. It was not my intention to demean you as a player and friend.

But, in the manner you left the game it leaves me to wonder the level of maturity you have as a player. I as the admin of this game cannot allow this, though you are a dear friend, it does not exempt you from the rules. I will not ask you to come back nor do I expect you to. Again, I am sorry Ben that this has happened. And to the rest of the board, I apologize that this happened when I was not here to take care of the manner. I also a little disappointed that some of you jumped to conclusions before my side of the story could be heard. I hope that you will all understand and we can commence with Rping and get back to having fun.

I'm rather curious as to what rule he broke that you have to be so cold to him. As far as I can see... he didn't break any rules, merely protested the use of his character in the manner in which you insisted he be used... and since it is HIS character, and he is not lax in posting... I see no reason for you to force him. THAT is against your stated rules. Leaving the board isn't against the rules either.

Granted... he probably did jump to wrong conclusions and overreact. He has quite a bit of stress in his life that is making him sensitive. It was not, however, a reason for you to publicly humiliate him in this manner. Clearly you do not expect him to return... and just as clearly you do not WANT him to return. After such a public scolding, how could you possibly expect him to return?!

I didn't leave... I merely stated that I was not comfortable with moderators of a board ignoring their own rules. I still am not comfortable with that... and as far as I can see... that's what is repeatedly happening here. I do not see this as merely a statement of your side... you chose to drag this down by belittling him. I was more than willing to go with Evadne's suggestion and work this out, and more than happy to speak to Ben on your behalf and try and straighten this out... you've made that task impossible.

Now tell me why I should stay? I'm feeling very uncertain.

I did not publicly belittle Ben, Oriana. I gave my side of the story. I am the head admin of this board and thus I must take care of it. Ben made his choice of leaving before I even said anything. He left in a irresponsible manner and though he is my friend, I have to look at this from an admin’s point of view. I know you feel the need to defend Ben as he is your friend too but he has made his point clear. I cannot stop him, nor do I feel I need to. Nor do I feel I should make pretty words to convince you to stay either. If you feel I am unjust, a horrible person, etc then that is your choice. I have given my side of the story and my admin ruling. That is it.

The subject on this matter is done and I do not want it discussed publicly on my board anymore. If you so wish to discuss it further, I ask that it be taken off the game by either PM or email.
