King Nuada?

With the death of King Balor and the MIA Princess Nuala, that does bring about an interesting subject. Would the court be so willing to crown Nuada as king, it is after all his birthright. Would the Bethmoora clan be able to rule without a king, but a Prince? Would the other clans attempt to overthrow the Bethmoora clan because they have a simple prince?

What about a heir presumptive in place of Nuada until he becomes King? As blood, Nuada automatically gains the throne, though I'm not sure how HB2 Elven monarch works. Would Nuala get a chance to become the Queen of her people or would it strictly be male heirs only?

Nuada would become King in order to further his war on Man and he would use that title as an advantage too.

I think this could really easily be a mission for the gang (or a gang) to take on.
Something having to do with both Nuada and Nuala having equal say for the throne and having to accomplish some sort of contest.

Perhaps the retrieval of some other mystical artifact that has been lost to the ages.

Or perhaps during all this - the other Kingdoms (other elves and dark elves anyone?) attack the weakened Bethmoora Clan - in an attempt to take that kingdom for themselves.

Right now Nuada's vying for the votes for his war. Not everyone is going to want to follow him but if he can get enough on his side to uneven the sides, he'd have a fighting chance to keep other clans at bay. And crush them!

I do like dragging Nuala into this (If her Rper is up for it) that the councilmen really don't want another a war, or at least crazy arse Nuada leading them, thus they seek out Nuala where she can rise up and take over as Queen. I'm not saying she actually has to, but that's what the people are hoping for.

As for a contest, I rather like the supernatural feel of proving oneself to the people and literally the land that they are the right one for the job.

I'm thinking that the Council might seek out Nuala for the throne - I mean, she would probably make a good queen, xD But, Nuada would probably have more than a few things to say about that happening - of course, they could both always rule together, Nuada as King and Nuala as Queen at the same time - perhaps the Council would want that, because they would each balance each other out? I dunno.

Or, maybe, if Nuada does not get as many votes as he would like for the war, The General can see this as a weakness, and maybe he can try to overthrow Nuada and take over. And, of course, he might drag Nuala into the picture because he'd want her to be his Queen - because he's a crazy stalker and it would be a good strategy to get the people of Bethmoora to like him more if one of their own is Queen. -shrug- I'm just throwing out ideas here.

I like the idea of Nuada nad Nuala having to do the contest. Though I can see Thalion and Adara supporting different sides. Thalion would support Nuala because she seems to hold his views on things and Adara would support Nuada because well he wants to destroy the humans. And she likes that idea.

In terms of a contest- it might be best (and more expansive) if it's several tasks to judge teh overall character of the individual. Of course they'd be allowed outside help (as no King or Queen would ever be without it).
The tasks could be things like:
Settling a dispute of issue for a subject - I'm certain that those under this Kingdoms banner come to the King to ask for help - and both Nuada and Nuala would be tasked with finding a solution to similar problems (like the old story of two women coming to a king to decide a dispute over the ownership of a child)

Leading armies ( or false ones - perhaps automatons?) against one another to prove who would be the best ruler in a wartime scenario.

Holding a sort of party in which both sides must attempt to convince members of the royal council to vote for them - to demonstrate their persuasive abilities.

I like thinking further ahead but for now, the council going on right now with the elves and such. Everyone's arguing before Nuada or Imornthi have been given the stand to talk. While the prince feels like this is a waste of time, it is a necessary evil that he must gain alliances to build his army. Would the council bring to order his Prince status or better yet, Nuala's place in this? Some want a war, some don't want a war but I think those that don't want a war outweigh those that do.

I do like the idea of Imornthi attempting a coup and that could possibly bring about a mini war between clans 'cause Nuada isn't going down without a fight. There could also be assassination attempts on the prince and councilmen that side with Nuada, a sort of coup from the inside to get rid of Nuada and replace him with "hopefully" Nuala, but Imornthi can also take a step up here.

Right now the council is arguing back forth in a sort of a "Nu huh!", "Yeah huh!" feel so Nuada is holding on actually showing them the map. Marillah's player found the map before consulting with the rest of the group (Which at that time, was just me) So the map threw me for a loop but I think to make things fun, the map can either be a fake or a clue that leads to another clue towards a treasure. It can't be that easy now, Nuada and Co. have to work for it.

So what was the point of my babbling? To stretch the council thread out and give it some meat to it's bones. Since Nuada isn't going to show the map, some councilmen would bring attention that he isn't a good leader and why should they listen to him, etc. Others wants Nuala, some want a war, many want peace and so it would be just one big mass argument going on.

Bringing this back into light again, my previous post (That would be Nuada's) what are your thoughts and opinions? Mostly from those who are in the thread with Nuada which would be Evadne and Nuala. Are you ladies interested in doing something like this or something else?

H'okay, so, I'm good with whatever you guys want to do - if you're all up for it, Imornthi could be the instigater of all of this - accusing Nuada of being an unfit leader, asking for proof of what he plans to do, etc., etc.
'Course, Imornthi could also bring up the point of having Nuala as Queen, because he, of course, prefers her to Nuada, lmao.
Like I said, I'm good with whatever you guys want to do.

XD I amuse myself. But I like that, causing a riff between the fae and a crack in Nuada's plan. If it's possible we could work this into the tail end of the Christmas party? Perhaps a royal messenger is sent to Nuala that she's greatly needed to return and take back the throne from her brother or even the test of trials we talked about way back when we started the thread.
