M is for Mandrake Root, which has many legends surrounding it including that it only grows where the semen of a hanged man has dripped on to the ground. Gross. Additionally, it appeared prominently in Pan's Labyrinth, possibly my favorite movie and one of Guillermo Del Toro's best. Also, I realized that in my previous post, I apparently forgot the damned order of the alphabet so, now we should be back on track, because I was supposed to post an M, not a K. Sorry.

M is for Manticore: the body of a Lion and a head of man with three rows of shark-like teeth. Said to have a voice like a trumpet. There is some discrepancy on the rest: Tail like a scorpion, or a dragon and wings like a bat, though it some times pictured without them [Image]. and C is for Cthulhu, but we all are acquainted with him, already
