She hadn't meant to do it. It was an accident. SeyƩnna hated hurting anything, human or not, but when it came down to her life, and the people around her, she stood up for them and herself. She knew he would be surprised. How could he not be? Arkins had looked at her as though she were a pathetic little wallflower, and so for him to find out that she was actually quite strong and quite capable of taking care of herself...well she wasn't sure how he would take it.
He was busy reloading his gun, and so for the moment she continued to look human. She hated the thought of having her identity - her true identity - revealed as a half blood, because she liked feeling normal and a part of something for once. It was her weakness, really, the need to belong.
She was frightened of the thought of Basil and the others looking at her as though she were some sort of freak, just like the panther-creatures that attacked, or worse, try and hold her down and pick her apart, so she kept her mouth shut. It wasn't being honest, but oh well. It kept her alive. Apparently it wasn't good enough however, because moments later Arkins spoke.
"You do that?" He asked her and she shook her head. She opened her mouth to say Of course not - but he cut her off. "Doesn't matter, time to go!" He turned at the sound of the firing, and added minutes later, "Closer to a prince now eh?" And she growled.
"The day I enjoy being closer to you is the day I let you bed me, and that won't be happening for a very long time. Like never." She growled, amber eyes flashing. Insulent, pompous...why of all the nerve!
"Now quit standing there and go!" He told her, but even as he did, there was something about him that made her think...he had protected her when he didn't have to, and that was a redeeming quality. It certainly didn't make her like him, but perhaps he wasn't sobad.
She watched him shoot, and she pulled her dagger out of her bodice as one of them came after her. She threw it expertly, and it landed in the monster with a sickening crunch. Hearing a thud, she went to the beast, retreived her knife, and found Arkins. "Lay still." She commanded quietly. "You may be in charge of military actions, but I am in charge of healing." She knew after this, he would know her secret, but he had protected her, and so she had to do the same. It was Elven Honor. Taking her hand, she ripped open his shirt and concentrated, squeezing her eyes shut, hoping that even in the human realm, her powers of healing would work...
