>>"I'll drink to that." << Liz heard Kasim reply lifting his glass of milk and drinking. She smiled at him. He always seemed so calm and collected. Not easy to stir. He was very zen-like about himself. She envied that, always moody and dark and all over the place.
>> "Thank you Liz. It's good to feel appreciated by those I'd take a bullet for." He grinned. "Cuz, you know, suits are as expendable as the clothing their named for around here. But it's my lot, and I'd be glad to dive in front of a bullet for...most of you.<<
She grinned at this "Trust me take in the compliment while you can. Appreciation in this bureau is few and far between" she replied, never having alot of good to say about the good old B.P.R.D. "Take a bullet for most of us eh?...wise choice" she nodded learning that quickly as well.
Her grin faded hearing him add >> "And if your rooming situation is that bad," His face momentarily changed to a serious expression, "You can come sleep in mine for now. I have a cot I can sleep in. Bed'll be yours." << she smiled weakly "Don't worry about it." she paused "The rooming situation is taken care of, luckily I have my own room...I'm just abit...bitter...about...things" she frowned going back to moody and dark Liz again, staring at her plate angrily.

>>"You know, if you needed to do that," he said, looking from Liz to Kasim. "I could always take Kasim into my room."<<
Kasim dropped the piece of banana and peanut butter sandwich he had been raising to his lips at that moment and looked over at Levi, his eyes widening in surprise.
>>"I don't mind sharing my bed with you..." His eyes widened to the size of dinner plates realizing what he had said the moment the words left his lips, flushing bright red. "I mean my room with you, sharing it with you...." The temperature within the cafeteria rose a little, the air becoming a little thick with humidity. "Oh, good Lord in Heaven, you know what I meant." He said with a sigh, closing his eyes to grapple his emotions back under his control, returning the room to normal. "God can I stick my foot in my mouth or what...?"<<
Kasim chuckled a bit nervously. He put a finger under his collar and pulled it outwards, his forehead already beaded with perspiration. "Well uh...that is to say uh...I-" He wasn't sure how to word his sentences. He was an open-minded guy...But he had just met Levi and well...Kasim had never been so blatantly hit on in his life. If it had just been him and Levi, he might have laughed.
>>"Don't worry about it." she paused "The rooming situation is taken care of, luckily I have my own room...I'm just a bit...bitter...about...things" she frowned going back to moody and dark Liz again, staring at her plate angrily.<<
Kasim looked at Levi. "Thanks for the uh...offer though." He smiled and then turned back to Liz. "I'm sorry you came back and things were such a mess, Liz. If there's anything I can do...You let me know."

>>"You know, if you needed to do that," he said, looking from Liz to Kasim. "I could always take Kasim into my room."<< Liz blinked looking from Kasim to Levi, taking a drink nervously.
>>"I don't mind sharing my bed with you..." << She began coughing, some milk her face turning bright red looking from Kasim to Levi. A smile crept up on her face, seeing a little flame between gentle Kasim and Levi,
>>"I mean my room with you, sharing it with you....Oh, good Lord in Heaven, you know what I meant."<< she watched Levi and Kasim nervously look at each other blubbering like a pair of nervous schoolboys asking there crush to the dance.
She let them talk amongst each other now in her own moody atmosphere. She knew she should try to talk to Hellboy but, she just thought maybe it was best she stayed away. Maybe it was best, maybe they weren't meant to be. She didn't know and she certainly didn't know what she wanted out of life. So she didn't wanna put HB through the torture while she ran away time and time again from life.
>>"I'm sorry you came back and things were such a mess, Liz. If there's anything I can do...You let me know." << She looked up at Kasim giving a faint smile "Thanks Kasim, theres nothing anyone can really do at the moment though" she replied darkly "And if you guys need a hand with anything, lighting a fireplace, uh...a cigarette don't hesitate to ask" she replied jokingly, hiding her pain.

Levi couldn't help but notice Liz's smile at his embarrassment. He didn't mean what he had said... right? Sure, Kasim was handsome and funny, but Levi wasn't the type for relationships of ANY kind. True enough he found males more attractive than females, that much he knew and accepted, but he knew he would never have any kind of long lasting relationship. The chances that he may hurt the other were too great, and he knew that the life he was bound to lead would most likely be a lonely one.
Sighing deeply, he shook his head, deciding it best to let his embarrassment go. Even in the unlikely event that Kasim WAS interested, it simply wasn't going to happen. Instead, he decided to return his attention back to the conversation his two new comrades were having, smirking at Liz's comment on her powers. "I shall remember that, dear Liz," he said with a grin, his eyes sparkling with merriment as he finished off his apple in two more juicy bites.

Liz watched Levi for a moment frowning. Almost knowing what he was feeling. He was alot like her, he probably thought he had no chance with him or anyone. No close realationships of any kind. She knew the fear of hurting others and the constant feeling of being alone all to well, she could smell it off him.
>>"I shall remember that, dear Liz,"<<
Liz managed a weak smiled at him "You better" she warned going back to her doom and gloom sipping on th elast of her chocolate milk. She sat there in silence for a moment, feeling abit worn out for the past little while.

"After we're done eating, do you want to aid me in giving Levi the grand tour?" Kasim asked, moving away from the awkward subjects. "I already told him that I was lost here for three hours on m first day. If we had another person around, I am sure that I won't get him and I lost. I think. And if so, hey! You can provide warmth in the dark and cold hallways of the BPRD." He smiled jokingly. "Unless you have something else, which I understand. Maybe we could find a carton of cigarettes to light, but I don't think that would be the best thing in your condition."
Kasim turned to Levi for a bief moment, just to let him know that he wasn't going to act awkward around Levi. "So uh...Did you go to Quantaco for your training or...where?"

Levi smiled warmly at Liz, patting her hand once more. When Kasim said 'in your condition', Levi's eyebrows lifted. 'Pregnant maybe?' He thought to himself, figuring the emotion triggered when he had first met her was ue to the mother-to-be's raging hormones. He was about to ask her about this 'condition', but Kasim turned to face him...
>>"So uh...Did you go to Quantico for your training or...where?"<<
Levi blinked and smiled at him, glad hat Kasim wasn't put off bu the unintentional flirtation remark Levi had made earlier. "Um, no.... actually I id most of my training in Omaha," he answered. "I spent some time in Washington DC when I was accepted into the FBI, but even then I was transferred back to my home state after I ha finished with my basic training."
Sighing deeply, Levi ran his fingers through his wave brown hair, looking down at his empty tray. "Not much ever happened there, though I guess that could be considered a blessing," he said gently wih a heavy sigh. "And even with my boss's warnings about how strange things were to be seen at the BPRD, I certainly wasn't prepared for this..." He smiled at Liz again. "Though, I must say it was a pleasant surprise. Didn't think I'd meet up with other people like me."
Clearing his throat, he looked from Kasim and back to Liz again. "And I would love it if you came with us, Liz," he offered with a grin. "The more the merrier, I say!"

You can provide warmth in the dark and cold hallways of the BPRD.<< Liz looked over to Kasim, that was true, the place was pretty easy to get lost in. She just was here and back so often, she sometimes forgot.
>>"Unless you have something else, which I understand. Maybe we could find a carton of cigarettes to light, but I don't think that would be the best thing in your condition."<< She gave him a dark and playful smirk "Well I did have some crack to smoke but, I guess I'll help you direct Levi around our fun little playhouse." She looked over to Levi smiling sweetly. Her humor always was alittle bit dark and sarcastic but, all in good fun.
She watched Kasim smile sweetly to her now turning his attentions to Levi. There still seemed to be some lingering awkwardness between them but, she thought it was cute. Watching the pair.
>>"So uh...Did you go to Quantico for your training or...where?"<< She looked down at her plate while they talked in silence, finishing the last bit of her meal. Oh the awkward conversations between two people who could possible be an item she thought, poking at her food. She missed those days, not like she had a whole lot of them. But things seemed both more and less complicated years ago then it did now. If that made any sense at all. She was just guessing it was the raging hormones making her all the more chaotic with her thoughts and feelings.
Liz looked up hearing Levi clear his throat turning to her now. >>"And I would love it if you came with us, Liz," he offered with a grin. "The more the merrier, I say!"<< She returned a grin to him, it was nice to feel wanted. "I'd love to join you two, but we better get going now and find our way through this labyrinth of a place now." she added grabbing her tray and setting it down near the garbages.

Levi's smile broadened when Liz said she would be happy to accompany them. As much as Kasim tried to make it clear that things wouldn't be awkward between the, Levi still felt it. After saying something like he did, one wasn't so quick to get over it. Especially when it was mostly a Freudian slip. "I'm looking forward to seeing the secrets this place has within it," he said with a grin, standing up after Liz and following her to the garbage bins to set his tray down on the appropriate counter. "I'm sure there is a lot more than I could even possibly imagine."
Levi nodded at a few faces as they headed out into the hallway, all of which greeted him right back. Smiling to himself, feeling more and more ta home with ever passing second, he took his time to look at the window displays outside the cafeteria doors, looking over the odd artifacts inside as he waited for his fellows to join him.

Kasim brushed stray crumbs of bread out of his goatee as Levi talked. Other than the personal grooming, Kasim was paying strict attention to the man. >>"..."Though, I must say it was a pleasant surprise. Didn't think I'd meet up with other people like me."<<
"I'm guessing your superiors didn't brief you entirely on the situation." Kasim said gently. "When I was transferred, I couldn't believe how many derogatory terms I heard when preparing to come here." He looked apologetically at Liz. "But then I did come here and met so many wonderful and interesting people. I couldn't believe I was hesitant to transfer here." Well, there was the situation about the high death rate among suits, but Kasim wouldn't bring that up.
>>"I'd love to join you two, but we better get going now and find our way through this labyrinth of a place now."<<
"Alright then." Kasim grabbed his tray and followed the fire-lady and weather-man to put the trays away. Once out in the corridor, his thoughts flashed to his post with Arkins, but he pushed them away. It's not like Arkins would miss his company. Kasim smiled warmly at Liz and Levi and headed for the elevator. "I think you'll like our training room. Let's go there." He jabed the 'Down' button and when the elevator arrived, kept the door from closing by sticking an arm in it. "Fantastic ladies and gentlemen first."

Fantastic? Had Kasim actually called him fantastic? He never in a million years considered himself and his uncanny abilities over atmospheric patterns as 'fantastic', and the thought brought a faint warmth to his cheeks. Smiling in spite of himself, Levi shrugged the duffel bag on on his shoulder a bit and brushed past Kasim into the elevator, smiling at him and Liz when he turned around. "Training room, hmmm?" He asked. "That sounds like a good place to check out if you ask me."
Still grinning, Levi thought what kind of training regiments he would be required to go through, and how they may possibly help him get a firm grasp on the powers that plagued him. In time, he may actually learn to be one with them and control them. Then, maybe (just maybe), he might be a asset to the Bureau, and be able to do some good in this world.
That thought made Levi smile even larger, looking up to the glowing number panel as they it up above and to the left of the door. Maybe he would be able to make up for him dreadful sins as a young man, and find peace within himself. To actually believe that he may be in sight of that small dream of his made him feel all warm inside. Or, maybe that was because he was standing so close to Kasim... regardless, he actually felt great for the first time in a very, very long time.

>>"I'm looking forward to seeing the secrets this place has within it,I'm sure there is a lot more than I could even possibly imagine."<<
Liz looked over to him smiling as she looked over to Kasim "Huh..so I guess he hasn't met red yet?" she asked already knowing that answer quite clearly. She frowned realizing she brought him up, falling silent again.
>>"When I was transferred, I couldn't believe how many derogatory terms I heard when preparing to come here." He looked apologetically at Liz. "But then I did come here and met so many wonderful and interesting people. I couldn't believe I was hesitant to transfer here."<<
Liz smiled weakly, a sad smile "Ah...yes...they love to just sweet talk the freaks" she replied rather dryly, a hint of self loathing in her voice as she fell silent. She managed out of the cafeteria and towards the elevator, Kasim and Levi by her side. >>"I think you'll like our training room. Let's go there." << Kasim replied hitting the button for the elevator.
>>."Training room, hmmm?" Levi chimed in. "That sounds like a good place to check out if you ask me."<<
"Yeah I think he would love the training room" Liz replied looking over at Levi, "You can train yourself to be a little mini-Hercules" she teased, putting her hands in her jean pockets as they stood in the elevator, her mind barely focused on giving him a tour or even the training room. She seemed abit troubled by her current situation in life. She wasn't even certain if she would make a good mother but, there was no way she could undo it...well she could but you know... she just couldn't go through with that.
Liz felt the elevator door open to the training room as Kasim let her go into the room first. She smiled, he always was a little gentleman. As she stood there "Should we explain what we do hear exactly first or let him wander around abit and figure out things himself?" she asked, some people already in the room, some chatting with one another and the rest in there own zone , training in silence.

Levi blinked when the elevator doors opened to what looked like the inside of a gymnasium. Stepping out after Liz, offering a little smile to Kasim as he did, Levi took a moment to look around. There were people here working out, a few playing basketball, some others sparring on a mat across the way. Yet again the faces he saw were varied, some almost alien... but none the less, they all were here working out together, playing together... like a big family in a way.
Seeing such camaraderie made Levi want to strip off his jacket, go and join in on the game of basketball. But, he didn't. Not just because he was wearing a suit, but he still had his luggage with him. Maybe after Kasim showed him to his room and after he met with his new boss would he return here to work out or maybe play a game of b-ball.
Levi's mind then returned to what Liz had said... about how he mustn't have met Red yet, and the look she made after mentioning the name. He wondered who it could be, and why she spoke his name with such enthusiasm, but then returned to a brooding state of mind. Levi wanted to ask, but decided against it. Things would play out in due time, he just had to be patient.

>>"Huh..so I guess he hasn't met red yet?" she asked already knowing that answer quite clearly.<<
"No...I was planning on introducing him to people we came across. I just know that Ms. Guidicini and Mr. Arkins will be so fun to have first introductions with." Kasim spoke of the other two because he saw the slightly perturbed look on Liz's face. Best to change the subject.
>>"Should we explain what we do hear exactly first or let him wander around abit and figure out things himself?" she asked, some people already in the room, some chatting with one another and the rest in there own zone , training in silence.<<
"I don't want to throw him to the wolves!" Kasim laughed, smiling warmly at Levi. "But I think exploring it with Liz and I as...little aside tour guides would be good. Give you a sense of wonder about our training room." Kasim looked at the luggage that Levi wheeled out with him, frowning. He had forgotten about Levi's stuff. "There's storage lockers over there if you want to set those aside for now." Kasim said, jerking his head over the the lockers leading to the shower. There were several oversized ones, mostly used for by Red. "There's lots to see and lots to do...Unfortunately, I'm not really dressed for an occasion such as this." Kasim self-consciously tugged on his collar. "Regulation dress can be such a mood-killer sometimes. You have it easy, Liz."

"I thank I have a basic understanding of what goes on here," Levi said, walking over to a storage locker to stow his baggage away for the time being. "You save people who need saving. Can't really fight for a better cause than that, right?"
Closing the locker door after setting his duffel bag inside, Levi turned back to walk to Liz and Kasim. "I can deduce from the kind of people you have working here," Levi nodded toward Liz and the few strange faces he had seen. "That the things we fight against are probably more like us than we care to let on... things 'normal' people don't think exist?"
Levi then smiled at Kasim, looking at him appraisingly. He was truly handsome, his dark skin and bright smile alluring in a way Levi had never seen in any other person before now. "And the suit isn't as much of a mood killer as you may think, Kasim," he said with a smile, hoping he didn't sound like he was hitting on the man again... but it was the truth, regardless. "Anyway... so what about this Red, Ms. Guidicini, and Mr. Arkins you spoke of? Friends, I assume? If so, I'd be happy to met them, especially if I'm going to be working with them."
