The Story
History:
Raine is from a race of people who are not good enough for heaven but not bad enough for hell. She and her kinsmen were doomed to wonder the earth forever. Born in the early 16th century, Raine lived through the rise of the Tudors. Raine grew and lived most of her life in the same place, Cornwall, and two seasons after she was born she was fully grown and reeking havoc on the village. Following in the footsteps of her kinsmen she stole horses and night and went to ride out on the moor always returning them by morning with tangles manes. Another thing she enjoyed doing was leading travelers astray in the moors and dressing up in rags to lead children into her play. When she was angry she would enter the villager’s houses and toss objects at them or move objects when they weren’t looking.
Raine started a small garden that she worked on just for herself in the forest. Territorial she fought the other pixies and the fairies that tried to impose on her garden. A small cavern on the beach served as a place to hide trinkets that she stole and a place to hide from humans.
1617 brought the start of the war between the Protestants and Catholics, villagers were at each others throats. Most of the members of the village grew tired of the pixies and their mischief so they started to catch the pixies by any means possible. Some lured then with trinkets and ribbons, the ones that were caught mere killed or put in jars for display. Others villagers tried to befriend the pixies, leaving food on the door steps. The pixies loved this and felt respected so often that would help the families by cleaning the house and leaving small gifts.
It was during the 19th century Raine was caught by a widow named Carroll O`Shield and taken to North America. She was an elderly woman whose husband died and left her and their son with the family farm. The son ran the farm while Carroll slowly sunk into heartbreak. When the son got married to a dairy maid he pushed his heart broken mother into the old cottage by the barn. The farm contained many horses and cattle; on the edge of the property was the beach near Raine’s cavern. By now Raine’s cavern was spreading deeper, it has gone from being in the darkest sections to in holes in the walls, under the water and hanging from the ceiling.
Carroll discovered Raine’s cavern one morning when she was out walking on the beach. Thinking it a place where a child had been hiding things she took all the trinkets out and brought then to her house. Raine in turn took all her trinkets back and messed up Carroll’s living room. Raine like this women because no matter how many tricks she pulled she never became extremely angry. For many years they played little games, Raine would tangle the manes on the O`Shield horses; move both small furniture and items around in Carroll’s house. In return Carroll would go to her cavern and take out little items and hide them around her house.
After a few years Carroll stayed up one night when Raine was wreaking havoc and when Raine least expected it caught her in a glass jar. She kept Raine with her as she moved to America. Carroll was heading to America with her son's family to start a new farm because the one in Cornwall was failing.
July 17th, 1882. When she arrived in America Carroll kept her more as a pet then anything else. She started calling her Trinket, due to her love of small knickknacks and ribbons. She made her little outfits like those on dolls and hid her from the world.
A decade went by and Raine lived everyday in a large glass enclosure, her hate for human grew more and more with each passing month. During the tenth year Carroll was dying of a heart problem, and she decided that she would let Trinket go. The instant Raine was out of the cage she started wreaking havoc on the home. Objects were thrown around the room, furniture was up turned and soon there was nothing that was really salvageable. Leaving Carroll and the destroyed house Trinket found herself in a strange world so unlike that of Cornwall. Having only a vague remembrance of her real name she started going by Trinket, despite her hatred for mankind.
Adjusting to the new world Trinket found herself living in condemned buildings and in sewers. She learned to use her glamor more and found that in this environment finding shiny things and ribbons was terribly easy, and she could even trade things in the troll market. Trinket more of less drifted though life, flitting from one place to the next and collecting trinkets.
Present day, Trinket hears from one of her satyr friends who'd heard around the Troll market of an army that hates mankind. Deciding to join the cause and sets out to help is anyway possible, she is often found wondering around the Troll market or the streets of Brooklyn.
