Hi everyone, I'm obviously new here, therefore I'm posting here first to get to know people, say a bit about myself, the usual little things you do when you join an RP Forums.

Now, this is not the first RP Forums, seeing how I've been RPing for about eleven or so years, but you get the picture. I'm pretty much a veteran in regards to RP...Seen a lot, done a lot, watched things come and go, built things and watched them go into ruin or disrepair; its been one hell of a walk, thats for sure. But man, I just can't get out of this game. But there I go rambling again.

As for my aspirations outside in the real world, I'm working towards a lot of things; first, I'm trying to become an artist (visual) while also trying to balance out the time to do some DJing/Producing on the side. So yeah, by default I love techno. Albeit, it doesn't mean I don't love any other form of music, it simply means my favored music would happen to be techno. I'm also big on reading lots of mythology and history, along with all sorts of fantasy lore and what-not. Its one of my favorite things. Also, if you haven't of guessed, I like to play video games, fantasy oriented and never sports based. I also LARP in my extremely heavy steel Mongolian lamellar set on the weekends from time to time.

Moving back to my RP experiences because, you know, you can never get enough of that. I started out at, what I would say, odd place to begin this grand tale: Neopets. Yes, yes, I started there, it isn't that big of a deal so please refrain from too much prodding with forks about that, with Vampire Role Plays based around Anne Rice (The Big Thing at the time) based RPs and man it was a blast. Of course, it didn't last long since I began to get tired of the simplistic form of things and the tiring amount of posts I had to make to form what I would actually end up typing. That invoked a thought in me to move and thus I left to try out Fantasy RP, back when it wasn't in such a low state as it is today.

See, around the side of the Internet that I was on, we had all sorts of crazy stories and adventures that went on for long periods of time and had all sorts of fun little things here and there that led to some strange ending result that held long-lasting consequences; it was, in short, a happier time, a simpler time. But all good things, unfortunately, come to an end and the site died, causing me to move again and seek refuge at a site where things made no sense at all with a very poorly designed world and stolen ideas left and right with a hypocritical, unreasonable administrator who was scheming to use all of the players on her site to write a book with "her" ideas. Its just comical when someone who asks others to write the descriptions for everything in her world for her tries to write a book and then claim the shared information as her own. Yeah, you can guess what I did then (for anyone who can't guess, I left. Well, not before arguing with her about her screwed up idea of things.)

So I moved on, this time to Gaiaonline where I stayed for a quite a while. I had a good run at gaia but in the end, Role Playing inevitably died and Gaia gave way to the "I've got the better Avatar than you," game, which means I once again left to search for RP within the vast reaches of the Internet and I did. Yet this time I'd found myself on a site based on ninjas. What sort of ninjas would you ask? Well, the kind that come from a certain anime *cough* Naruto *cough* and don't look down on me for it cause that side was not only filled with extremely intellectual people, but it actually broke things down to where it felt more like you were playing DnD or something, with the whole leveling bit and what-not. Course, I got tired of the ninja this and ninja that so I ninja'd my way right off the site, respectably putting in my resignation of course.

Then came more sites which I spent time at, too many to really go into full detail...and now here.

Oh, as for Forums of my own, I've had many, from Fantasy to Sci-Fi, all of which have failed due to my procrastination or my lack of members to maintain it. But I will say I am working on a Forum that'll probably end up being a Futuristic Super Hero-Based RP and no, I don't plan on advertising it. I believe that I must maintain some honor when it comes to being on a Forums and then Maintaining one at the same time. First and foremost, I find it to be a form of stealing or leeching, then I find that it's a big slap to the Administrator of a Forum's face to host your site on theirs when you've joined, and of course I just feel like I've abused the freedom to post what I have to say on a Forum by putting even one little ad up. Moving on...

Eh, yeah, well that's a bunch of me right there. heh, as I said before, I ramble so if you went through all of that, I apologize for submitting you to all of that and congratulate you for sitting through the boring load of reading. eh, well, once again, Hello everyone, I hope to have a long standing friendship and Role Playing partnership with each and every one of you.

Mythology and history were my FAVORITE when I was little. I have clear memories of going back to the corner with the encyclopedias in sixth grade and reading through the mythology sections, and then going to the "See ..." and reading those as well. Good times!

You've seem to tread a lot more RP ground than I have. My basic RP sites have been Yahoo! Groups and pro boards. And I know Abe's had some trouble before with people stealing his hard-worked plots and wordings of everything.

What is it and the RPG world? Drives you crazy but it keeps sucking you back. I wish I knew how to quit you! And a fellow LARPer! Granted, I haven't played in a game since I was 11 years old and that was well over a decade ago ¬.¬ It's still good to see one. There aren't any LARPing groups where I live so sadly, I've defaulted to relearning D&D and tagging along with my brother to his games.

I think I tried Neopets... or was it Gaia? But after too many, "I hit you!", "Nu uh!", "Ya huh!", "Nu uh!", "I'm telling!" moments, I wandered away. You hear wonderful horror stories about these places but there are those rare gems. I pretty much started off in yahoogroups and then moved on to various forums and boards, proboards just happens to be a personal favorite.

Now that you've mentioned your game, Sci Fi and superhero *Glee* You're going to have to leave an ad. I love my players games and ads they leave and I insist. Completely up to you of course, but I'm cool with it and before this gets too long, welcome and welcome again to our little corner of the net!

Address to Frankie: Hello, hello! So glad to meet you and thank you kindly for the welcome! Ah, glad we have a similar interest. I do love history and Fantasy oh so very much. Funny how here, in this hellboy forums, my knowledge of the Tuatha De' Danann may just have some following. I'm not quite sure but if I'm correct there were no mentions of the four artifacts of the Tuatha De' Danann in the film, was there? Oh, or of Lugh, Fal, and Dagda. Ah, and the RP world, tis a grand thing, a splendorous thing. Yet as it goes, the old ways are shifted with the new and places that were once glowing bastions of RP goodness ( Ex: B.Net) have gone and died because of the fools before them who didn't teach people how to really play and have fun or because a super big mmo (won't say any names but you know which) released and caused the RPer population to drop like flies on a cold, extremely, snowy winter's night. Mind you, these aren't Alaskan snow flies, these are common, summer loving house flies. But alas, not much you can do other than pull those few ignorant people that don't know their godmod from a fair tactical advance or their powerplay from a basic expectation of how the character's mechanic works, and teach them what real RP is. We are at a trivial time, the RP community, and if we keep to our malicious ways then there will no longer be even one person left and it will become a "game" rather than a vivid, expansively beautiful caption of story-telling where you are the painter with word, the sculptor of textual based life. It is that which keeps the drive going and with it I retain the idea that one day I will indeed see a return to the old numbers.

Address to Abe: Well, it's good to finally meet the person behind this magnificent place! The site is quite top notch if I do say so myself. and thank you for the welcome! Ah, LARP, a beautiful thing indeed. I myself follow the Amtgard banner since I find that the NERO is far too ridiculous with how they put a price tag on everything and Darkon can be a tad painful on the body, with all the body checks and what-not. So I default to Amtgard, the society that I have come to see as a form of medieval boy scouts. But man, its great fun, especially archer. Now then, Neopets and gaia, were the avatars human or did you have a little square with a strange creature's face in it? Also did you have a text limit? Either way, they've fallen when it comes to RP quality. I mean, sure, theres a good RP here and there but they're not as abundant as they once were. Also, to add, a good RP is not one that is littered with massive amounts of text that are unnecessary, but RPs with players that know when and where to go into fine detail and, above all, know how to keep the story alive. Of course, then theres the lack-there-of settings where its just ridiculous and should never have existed to begin with. Oh, and dear god...I hate it when those tiny excursions of player argument arises because seriously, RP, as beautiful as it is, is still a game and you lose nothing from what happens. Hell, if I were to, say, be killed then I would embrace the role and allow it to roll through. You play your part in the grand scheme of things and thats it. You made your choice at the start of making the character and theres no turning back since whats done is done. You might as well at least put on a good show. But yes, I have come to see that proboards is the only true place RP can ever have a place where site wide equality is known. Its funny how that works too. A massive place where the RPs a, "one night stand," you care more. When you're on an RP forums that you get on every day and everywhere you effect yourself and you put even more of an investment into the character, you're more acceptant of change. Heh, well, if you really want me to advertise it here then I'd be fine with it. After all, you are the admin and you DO want me to Ad it here so sure. I will say this though, you can't join my site the conventional way. On my site I don't allow real world pictures but players are allowed to go and have have custom artwork made of their characters to use. My reason for this? I wanna give it that comic world sort of look and I want to finally be able to put my art skills to good use for once. However, theres nothing against getting a picture of someone and then asking an artist to draw that person in a less detailed form to use for the forums, it just sort of kills it for me when you use Batman in a world that has no such person, especially when it takes place a long period of time into the future where, at least this is how the first few members of the site will enter the world, your character has just woken up from a cryogenic stasis for dire crimes they committed hundreds of years ago. Your character has no recollection of who they are or were or that they have their abilities to begin with. To your knowledge you are nothing, not even a blip the radar screen. Of course, if you were playing someone more Abe-like, you'd probably have a different awakening experience, but that unique feeling would pass as quickly as it would come since you'd find that there are quite a lot of people like you. Ah, another thing to note. It has it's fantasy elements as well. I can never fully tear away from high fantasy so it'll be there, in the races available and what not. Moving on, they'd, at some point rise from the norm with the newfound knowledge of their abilities and either remember their pasts or make a new name. But enough about my site. heh...see, if you get me talking about something I drone on about it, which is no good for my PR, the whole length of my writing, etc. I will say that I did try to cut down on the chatter, I was simply unsuccessful.
