The Handler
Name: Rórdán (ROAR-den)
Nickname: Rory; Rex, Rufus, Rover, and many other cliché pet names
Classification: Pooka
Gender: Male
Age & Birthday: Rórdán is 41 years of age, though he appears to be a young man of about 17. He was born on August 15, 1969.
Appearance: Physically speaking, Rórdán is the picture of youth and fitness. Standing at 5’7” and weighing in at 146lbs, he’s a touch underweight but is luckily toned enough to make it look good. Scruffy blond hair and honey brown eyes work to amplify his boyish appearance. His eyes are deep and tend to have a twinkle of a laugh in them, and his full, soft lips have a tendency to be slyly pulled into a lopsided grin, as though enjoying a private joke. All in all, Rórdán’s features are gentle and peaceable.
The pooka’s posture is both confident and relaxed, lending an open and inviting feeling to his overall presence. He moves with a certain subtle animal grace that lends itself well to prowling or dancing. His general compactness also often results in his being overlooked by others at first, which combined with his exceptionally youthful appearance means he’s often assumed to be a young relative of someone close by. Awkward? Yes, sir.
Attire: Rórdán’s style could be called ‘shabby chic’, but it would suggest that the ‘chic’ part is intentional. He cycles through secondhand clothing stores to get his clothes, which can sometimes leave him looking like he’s got a costume party to go to. He dresses himself much the way a 5-year-old does, picking out items he likes and wearing them, even if they might draw undue attention. He knows he tends to look different; he just doesn’t care.
–That kid who insists on wearing his monkey costume out for mommy’s grocery run? Rórdán loves that kid.
Some typical outfit choices are as follows:
1) Top hat and tails worn over t-shirt and jeans combo. (top hat optional)
2) Sport coat over utili-kilt and tank-top combo, with boots.
3) Shorts and suspenders over t-shirts sporting anachronistic pop-culture references. Top with fedora or beanie.
If a situation calls for subtlety, or if he’s feeling particularly down, Rórdán is completely capable of dressing like a relatively normal person.

The Creation
Name: Stray
Power List:
Shapeshifting
Fast Healing
Detailed Power:
Shapeshifting: Being a pooka, Rórdán can change his shape into that of any earthly animal. Coloration of animal his forms tends toward the darker end of the natural spectrum. The change itself is instantaneous –he simply is one thing at one moment, and another thing the next. While in animal form, he can speak in human languages, and is reasonably comfortable in any skin he wears. When he changes, his clothes and anything in his pockets changes with him, magically absorbed into his new form.
Fast Healing: As one of the fair folk, Rórdán heals significantly faster than would a human being. This makes him tough to kill, and may also contribute to his extensive faerie lifespan. Damage inflicted by cold iron is exceptional, and tends to require a normal amount of time to heal.
The Potential
Alignment/Occupation: Unaffiliated.
Weapons: Rórdán’s only weapons are the claws, fangs, and beaks of his animal forms. He’s used clubs and knives before, but has never been formally trained in their use.
Personality: (Be realistic. Give strengths and weaknesses, quirks, likes and dislikes. At least two (2) full paragraphs, the more the better)
Skills:
Being a sneaky sort of faerie, Rórdán has some natural aptitude for stealth and thievery. Picking pockets is his favorite.
Having been ‘born’ at Woodstock, this pooka has a talent for the arts. He is an able singer and dancer, plays a mean penny whistle, and can totally rock the mic at poetry slams. He’s taken a few art classes over the years, and pulls in a decent amount of money drawing on sidewalks and asking for change.
Rórdán’s a decent cook, though hardly chef material. He can make simple things pretty well, but more advanced dishes are usually too time-consuming or complicated for him.
Strengths: (What does your character excel in, physically, mentally, etc. Use paragraph form.)
Weaknesses: Rórdán is a man of many weaknesses. Though he may heal quickly, he’s also easily damaged, being of delicate constitution. Also noteworthy is his low pain threshold –sure, he can heal two broken legs in decent time, but there’s a good chance he’ll pass out from the breaking.
Without a really good fake ID, Rórdán’s youthful appearance will almost definitely keep him out of any adults-only establishments. There’s no official record of his existence anywhere (BPRD excluded, possibly…), so hospitals, government buildings, and border-crossings can be a difficult time for him too.
Chief among his faults is every pooka’s greatest hurdle: communication. To say that pooka have a complicated relationship with the truth would be a massive understatement. Essentially, they’re almost incapable of telling the whole truth. The aggravating part for most people is the ‘almost’ part. Though they may stall, misdirect, or outright lie, every now and then a nugget of truth will escape them unspoiled by falsehood. The challenge comes in figuring out just what any pooka is actually trying to say.
A fairly poetic weakness of his (especially in light of his whole lying thing) is Rórdán’s faith in the goodness of people. This isn’t to say he believes everything he’s told; he’s just willing to believe that the people he meet are all basically good at heart, and are inclined to do what’s right. He’s been disappointed many times, but has seen too many people do really beautiful things for each other to give up hope.
The Story
History: (Basically from birth to start of game. No holes, no empty periods of nothingness -- be thorough and have your years accounted for, whether it be in a sentence, paragraph, or several sentences. If your character is old, as in several centuries old, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Historically inaccurate or ignorant histories make Frankie very grumpy. And trust me, you won't like her when she's grumpy.)
