THE HANDLER
NAME: Bethany Jane Flynn
NICKNAME: Beth/Bethy, Little Red.
CLASSIFICATION: Human
GENDER: Female
AGE & BIRTHDAY: 23; 12 November, 1986
APPEARANCE: Bethany is naturally slim, almost waifish in appearance. Her height doesn't help matters, the young woman standing at five feet, ten inches. She's long-limbed and still somewhat awkward with her coltish physique, often slouching to hide the fact that she's so tall. She has a slight musculature, her flexibility and tendency to somehow slip out of harm's way making up, somewhat, for her lack of grace. She carries a lot of her weight in her hips and legs, her calves strong from lots of time on the track, treadmill, and a very brief encounter with gymnastics when she was a teen.
Her hair is a natural and vibrant red, naturally somewhat wavy but fine enough that just the slightest humidity renders her hair straight as a ruler. It falls to about the middle of her back, though she often wears it tied back for convenience's sake. She's often considered cutting it just to reduce the hassle, but has yet to getting around to it. She has the tendency to look a little tired, her skin very fair and prone to sunburn if she isn't careful. Slight circles appear under her eyes if she's even the least bit tired, and she can sometimes have the appearance of being deep in thought or just plain put-out, the corners of her mouth having a natural slight downturn to them.
Freckles cover her face, mostly over her nose and under her eyes, and at this point they are quite faint. A few more are on her arms and shoulders, and she has small scars from childhood accidents, and slightly larger ones from her time at the BPRD, brief as it has been thus far. Her face is rather strong, with a prominent jaw and cheeks, and heavy-lidded eyes. Her lips are pouty, but not necessarily overly plump, her mouth slightly small. She also has heterochromia iridium, a condition where one eye has a slightly different pigmentation than the other. Her left eye is a light hazel, a mix of light blues and slightly darker greens, while her right eye is a light blue with some darker blue around the pupil and in a thin ring around the iris.
ATTIRE: Bethany loves comfort. When off-duty, she's usually sporting jeans and a t-shirt, and in cooler weather, jeans and a sweater of some sort. She isn't exactly fashion savvy, but she doesn't look like a fashion victim, either. She doesn't own heels, and never has; she find them unnecessary, not to mention they cause your spine to go all out of whack and whatnot. Plus, she's not exactly the most graceful girl on the planet. Her make-up is minimal at all times, and her hair is generally worn out of her face.
On-duty, she wears things for comfort and practicality. You won't see her in skin-tight leather with boots and a corset, just as you won't see her out in the field wearing a skirt. She opts for neutrals, and she doesn't own anything that's dry-clean only. Black slacks are her favorite, and maybe the occasional pair with pinstripes. She prefers her shirts dark, as it's less of a hassle to wash those than, say, white tops. Her shoes on-duty are just as comfortable as her sneakers, despite being boots that have seen better days.
Jewelry is only worn when she's off-duty, and even then, it's probably a little bracelet and a pair of small earrings. She doesn't do extravagance.

THE CREATION
NAME: None
POWER LIST: Empathy, mild telepathy
DETAILED POWER: For the most part, Bethany is an empath; she feels what other beings feel, and it often gets a little difficult to control. This makes it easy to read intentions, if you will, but it isn't exactly fool-proof. Some people, after all, are better at pushing back how they feel than others, and there are certainly people and other beings that are naturally resistant to most forms of psychic powers. Her empathy developed over time into a mild telepathy, though it takes more concentration for her her read the minds of others than to simply get a feel for their emotions. She has a long way to go before mastering her powers, and there are days where she gets overwhelmed.
