THE CREATION
NAME: White
POWER LIST: An Aptitude for Dark Magics, Elven Strength, Speed, and Toughness
DETAILED POWER:
Aptitude for Dark Magics - Dark Elves are born into Dark Magic, and they revel in it. Much like his brethren, Sol has an innate aptitude for Dark Magic, but does not know this. He was not raised amongst his kind, and furthermore has no one to teach him of his powers. However, he is a quick learner, and this sort of magic will come easier to him than most, but it will take time. Currently, Sol knows nothing of his people, nor any magic to speak of.
Elven Physique - Elves are naturally stronger, tougher, and more graceful than their human counterparts. Sol's injuries prevent him from taking full advantage of this, and he evens out to being equal to a normal, healthy human in speed and strength.
THE POTENTIAL
ALIGNMENT/OCCUPATION: B.P.R.D. Agent
PERSONALITY: Sol does not like people. Humans, specifically, but really any species don't rate highly in his favor. He is incredibly soft spoken, has immense trouble speaking his mind, and generally tries to keep to himself and away from conversation. He gets agitated and fidgety when spoken to at length. Generally Solaufein avoids big groups and loud gatherings, preferring to read, paint, draw, or sculpt. Learning and reading fascinates him, and he finds it hard to tear himself away from a new interesting subject.
He finds others to be interesting to look at, perhaps, but uncomfortable to speak with- and he outright fears and distrusts humans. To him, all humans have the capacity to harm him, and he is highly confused by the B.P.R.D. and it's friendly intermingling of the races. The non-human elements of the B.P.R.D. are of far greater interest to Sol. He idolizes them for their strength and skill, and will often watch them as they go about their regular business. He doesn't like considering the past, but doesn't mope about it. In truth he is too distracted by the freedom and life he now has to reflect on the imprisoned childhood. That's not to say his past hasn't left it's mark however, in fact Sol no longer feels comfortable with touch, food he has not prepared himself, or sleep. In fact, Sol often forgets to sleep, bathe, and eat at regular intervals. He is still not used to not having such free access to any of these things and finds it all somewhat uncomfortable.
SKILLS: Sol picks up knowledge quickly, and is often found reading, he has a penchant for languages as well. He finds remote enjoyment from art, and when not reading, can be found sketching the facility or people around him - something he is quite good at. He's not bad at a variety of musical instruments - but he wouldn't know for sure, as his knowledge of them is gleaned only from books. He often practices, listening to music and mimicking the hand movements on an instrument.
STRENGTHS: Solaufein is very smart, and has the capacity to learn quite a bit, something he does with relish. He devours books like one might devour a meal. He is naturally magic inclined, and with the proper teaching could be a handy magical asset. His supernatural elven strength, speed, and toughness could be cultivated in the right hands, but it would take significant effort, as he is interested more in mental strength than physical.
WEAKNESSES: Solaufein has an outright fear of humans, which makes his new surroundings quite uncomfortable. He could be described as being agoraphobic, and would be of limited assistance on missions. Though book smart, he is lacking in wisdom, which could be taken advantage of. His permanent scaring has left him with only one working eye, and a damaged croaking voice.
THE STORY
HISTORY: Solaufein De’Vir is a Dark Elf, a dark creature that look more like humans than the other creatures in their fantastical realm. They have pointed ears, darkly beautiful features, a wonderful aptitude for dark magics, and a love of both Spiders and poison: the more deadly the better. This love for dark things, and ambition that grew in the Dark Elves hearts led them to hold a scant few wars against mankind - though they were defeated each time by both the humans and the magical creatures aligned with them. At the end of the last war, the Dark Elves were all presumed destroyed. However, there were pockets of the evil creatures deep underground in lands they had forged themselves. Intent to regain power in their dark lands, the Drow have constructed many cities, even now preparing themselves for a war against the “surfacers.” There are some Drow, however, that have forgone their homeland, looking instead, to live upon the surface.
One such kingdom, was the Southern De’Vir Monarchy. The Kingdom was perhaps not the largest - but it was prosperous, and the great King, Lord Valas De'Vir ruled fairly. When King Valas felt he had ruled enough, he finally married - a beautiful young Dark Elf named Viconia - and the two had a single son.
He would never witness his kingdom.
Humans had found what they believed the last bastion of the dark creatures - and the hit them hard. The fight was short and bloody, the De'Vir kingdom wasn't prepared for war, they had not thought that their enemies would ever find them so far in the south, and had hoped to regain a semblance of peace. Viconia was cut down, her baby held tightly to her breast, and Valas was shot through the chest before he had even managed to don his armor. The children, the few that were found, were given to the rich backer for the assault, an old magical inventor named Pyotr Pavel.
Sol, being not but a babe remembers nothing of his parent’s death. His earliest memory was as a test subject in one of Pavel's study chambers. Pyotr, an aging but powerful Wizard had spent much of his adult life searching for the final city of the Dark Elves. instead he had found Xar'zith Valshath, the smallest Dark Elf kingdom far to the south. Pavel's men were able to capture multiple dark elf children, and Pavel was careful to separate them all into different complexes countries and continents apart. He and his support staff began a series of complex studies and experiments on the children, determining their strength, resistances to magic and weaponry, anything to discern the nature of them.
It wasn't until 18 years later when Sol was freed - by the B.P.R.D. of all people. A physical and psychological mess, he was taken into custody - but it was clear he wasn't a threat like his people had been. He's spent two years in a rehabilitation center off site, before finally returning to the B.P.R.D. - something he really doesn't have a choice in the matter on doing. He doesn't seem to mind much, and actually has come to idolize the non-human elements of the B.P.R.D., choosing to acknowledge them as his saviors, whether they were involved in his rescue or not.
He found commonly in the Library stacks of books surrounding his slight frame. When not reading, he can often be found on the roof, awkwardly practicing an unseen instrument, or idly sketching.
