THE HANDLER
NAME: Johnathan Aviero Calligostro
NICKNAME: Goes by Johnny.

APPEARANCE:
Johnny is of 100% italian descent, and it shows. He tans easily, so his skin often seems dirty white, or even pale brown. He has a thin build, very lean and gangly. Reminiscent of a stick really. Standing at a height of just over 6'1, Johnny is relatively tall, but he weighs only 150 lbs.
His hair is a thick, dark brown color that appears almost black. He keeps it cut as short as possible at all times. His eyes are also dark brown. He generally shaves, but still likes to keep a little bit of a soul patch on his chin.
Johnny's face can only be described as... circular. His cheeks are rounded in nature, but come to a small point at the base of his chin, which itself is a bit round. His ears are a bit... larger than most. Extending outward from the sides of his face, they are obviously his most notable facial feature.
ATTIRE:
On duty, Johnny likes to wear form fitting clothing. Black cloth gloves with rubber insulation on the inside can be found at all times on his hands. He wears a plain white T-shirt, and black silk sweatpants, with his BPRD Field Agent belt strapped around his waist. His shoes are running shoes that are a bit of a tight fit, so he almost never loses his grip or balance.
Off duty, Johnny likes to wear loose blue jeans, held up by a black leather belt, a plain black T-shirt, the same cloth gloves and a black cloth overcoat that reaches just down past his knees. He always wears the same kind of shoes.

THE CREATION
NAME: Lightning Rod
POWER LIST: Electrokinesis, Magnetism, Static Charge
DETAILED POWER:
Johnny's abilities are all dependant on whether or not he has a static charge built up in his body. This accumulates itself to full power after around an hour of continued movement, or 4 hours of rest. He can also concentrate to create a drastic spike of electricity in a pinch. Johnny has the ability to harmlessly discharge this energy into the ground, a process that takes little more than 5 full minutes of concentration.
Electrokinesis: Johnny can create and control electricity. His body has a strange ability to generate a large amount of static charge and store it without killing him. Using this, Johnny can create a single bolt of electric energy extending up to 20 feet from his person, or a smaller static burst 20 feet in diameter. He can increase the range, but puts himself at risk of injury if he does so. Johnny likes to reserve this power for disable-only purposes.
Magnetism: Johnny can also use his static charge to magnetize small pieces of metal, though he is unable to do so for anything weighing more than 30 or 40 lbs. This ability has a range of around 25 feet, and Johnny can turn it off at will. Johnny likes to use this power to grab makeshift weapons, then charge them with an electric charge around the same voltage and amperage as a common taser, and this is his preferred method of fighting.
Static Charge: Being that his body is continously charged with electricity, anyone who comes into direct, unprotected, physical contact with Johnny recieves a small jolt capable of disabling all muscle function for about 5 seconds. Johnny can concentrate the charge on any part of his body, causing himself to act as a sort of human taser.
THE POTENTIAL
ALIGNMENT/OCCUPATION: BPRD Field Agent
WEAPONS: Johnny sometimes uses electrically charged pieces of metal that he picked up using his magnetism. They are wielded in a fashion similar to that of nunchaku.
PERSONALITY:
Johnny is the first to speak his mind, a trait that may sometimes cause him to come off as arrogant. He is also mildly manipulative, and knows how to get what he wants from people. He is the first person to introduce himself and always strives to put his best, albeit a bit masked, foot forward, so to speak.
Johnny is also a bit rash. He jumps into situations without thinking about them, however if this ever brings him into a difficult situation, and it has, Johnny has a silver tongue that's perfect for talking his way out of problems... at least non-violent problems.
In the more violent of situations, Johnny strikes quickly, and always aims to disable his opponents with precision strikes and aims to be as effective as possible; a skill he's gotten quite good at. Johnny is also flashy, using his Capoeira style martial arts to fling his electricity around him in a very showy manner. He rarely uses this style martial arts to fight, however, as he prefers to use a more effective method.
Johnny enjoys argument, so he is often quick to provoke someone, and fills with delight whenever they take the bait. He also likes to finish anything he starts so he is not one to give up easily. Johhny will almost never use his powers to kill anything, unless his life, or the life of fellow agents, is in direct and immediate danger.
SKILLS: Johnny knows Capoeira, a brazillian martial art style combining the rythm of dance with the power of martial fighting, Judo, a style he likes to use for close one on one encounters to disable his opponents both with this art and his static charge, And Tae Kwon Do, for fistfighting. He often likes to mix and match between the three. He is also trained in the use of nunchaku, a technique he uses often enough. Johnny is not a master in any of these arts, but he is trained well enough to use them effectively in a combat situation.
STRENGTHS: Johnny is a very adaptive person. He can almost always find a way out, but when he cant, he uses the full force of his abilities in an attempt to overpower his opponents. Johnny is stronger than he looks, but by far not anything noteworthy. His is just strong enough to put the correct amount of power into his martial arts.
WEAKNESSES: His first, and probably greatest weakness, is the rain. When Johnny is out in the rain, all of the electricity he attempts to use is far too easily dispersed. His only ability that remains unaffected is his power to store static electricity, but his other powers are cut drastically, if not completely.
Johnny is rash. Always first to dive in without looking. This often causes problems for him. He is also very prone to becoming cocky, and if he truly believes he is winning a fight, he can get a little sloppy.
THE STORY
HISTORY:
Johnny had an extremely average life... for the most part. He was born in an average fashion and he lived just like any other child, up until he was around 14 years of age. During his adolescence, Johnny's abilities developed, though he was unaware of the fact. Small pieces of metal would often stick to his fingers when he picked them up, and he would easily shock some people just by touching them.
At around age 16, Johnny was struck by lighting. He remained completely unphased, but he was scared out of his mind. He ran home, never telling anyone of the incident. About 2 months later, he was struck by lighting again. This time, in the company of friends. After the incident, they labeled him as 'inhuman' and Johnny grew outcasted.
A few days later, Johnny was once again struck. This time, he fell unconscious. When he awoke, he found himself in a daze, and stumbled around. In his stupor, he wandered near a junkyard. Almost immediately pieces of metal began flying toward him. Johnny ran for his life for hours, until he ran out of breath and collapsed. The metal fell to the ground alongside him, strewn in a path of chaos leading to its source.
Johnny was upset by this, and he decided to seek answers. He sought out his doctor and told him of the incident, and the doctor decided to examine him. Immediately after he placed his hand on Johnny's skin, he shook violently and fell to the ground foaming at the mouth. Johnny called in the other staff and the doctor was rushed to ER almost immediately. Johnny decided to tell no one of this, and the doctor had no recollection of the incident.
After a few more years of keeping to himself, Johnny discovered his powers, and learned how to maintain them. He then decided to join the army at 18 for four years instead of being outcasted in college. It was there that he trained in martial arts and learned to control his abilities.
He was placed in the interrogation unit after 2 years because of his uncanny ability to make people talk. No one was aware that it was his powers that assisted him in doing so. Upon returning home from the army, Johnny was approached by an FBI agent. The agent told Johnny that he believed Johnny was special, and he was a part of an organization that had use for Johnny's particular brand of 'uniqueness'. After a few tests, Johnny was assigned to the BPRD, and has been working as a field agent for about 4 months now.
