Doug Jones and Guillermo del Toro at Comic Con

So Abe and I went to Comic Con and we got to see Doug Jones (Abe Sapien, the Chamberlain, Angel of Death) FOUR times. He is so sweet and kind! I actually sobbed hysterically after meeting him because he was SO NICE YOU GUYS and I absolutely adore him.

Saturday we got to meet Guillermo del Toro with him at the Gentle Giant booth and I caught it on tape to preserve it for posterity. XD I am the one holding the camera, and you see Guillermo shaking Abe's hand.

Random regaling tiems nao! Since you cannot hear me all that well, I am indeed the blooded/dirtied shoulder and hand you see on the left side. I was in my zombie garb for that and yes, GDT said holy f***ing crap because I am that awesome. He loved my costume and makeup, which was done by Frankie because she is that awesome. That is indeed my Abe plushie Doug Jones signed and on his butt! I got a pic of that I'll post in a little bit. Either I have it or Frankie does and if I have it, I need to resize it because it is huge!

Seriously though, Guillermo complimenting me on my costume and Frankie's makeup, is beyond words. I was completely starstruck and could only grin and spit out a few words. When GDT asked if I bite anyone recently, I think I said "No, not yet." But obviously I had since half my face was covered in blood. Most of it had rubbed off over the day but it was super thick and kinda chunky so when I put it on (By literally rubbing my hand all over my mouth and neck) it dried in little clumps like actual blood.

And I said ferry in response to DJ's accident comment, our hotel was over on Coronada and we hitched a ride on the ferry everyday dropping us off right behind the convention. I love his, "Did you say ferret?" Because that would have been one epic battle I'd gladly lose just for the story. Frankie and I gave GDT and DJ little gifts, hence the orange packages with stickers all over them.

But where it stopped recording, the magic really happened for me. I got out of line and instantly remembered I had a cupcake for Guillermo. So I handed off my things to Frankie; she's such a good sport, grabbed my cupcake outta the bag and ran back. I was on the other side of the divider for the line and for whatever reason, the people behind us hadn't advanced forward so Guillermo was literally doing nothing and I was talking to the guard, asking him if I could just hand Mr. DelToro the cupcake and he was being rather... stubborn. So then I hear Guillermo say my name and ask if I wanted something else signed and I hold up the cupcake container and he laughs and pats his stomach and says "What? Look at this." So I procceded to smack my stomach since RL Abe does not have an Abe figure. Then he says "Fine, but I'm naming my next stretch mark after you." And I'm good with that and he gestures to come over to him and I'm thinking, no freakin' way. I dash around the line, around the signing table and he gets off his chair and I hand it over to him and I get a massive Guillermo hug and a kiss on my makeup covered forehead and he finishes off with a "Thank you so much sweetie." And then he's back to signing things.

If I wasn't a grinning idiot before, I am now.

I gave Tim Minchin a coconut once, and without thinking, he offered it to his assistant while I was still there...and he said "oops, I mean no *takes coconut back* I will cherish it forever." I was crushed slightly, but I still adore the guy's music.

It sounds like you girls had a blast! I'm so jealous.

Oh man, that... kind of sucks. :\ If I were him, I would have at least waited until later but... Yeah. *Huggles/Cuddles/Pets*

I also gave Doug a cupcake the day before and when we later went to the Universal Dead signing with him, we saw him devouring it. He was like eating huge chunks of cupcake. I am in love.

My brother and his girlfriend and I are already planning to go next year and looking at flights and hotel rooms. XD I suggest totally going if you ever get the chance!
