[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,2,true][atrb=cellspacing,1,true][atrb=width,450,true][bg=131313] Aamir Ramliyya 41. Human. Unaffiliated Aamir was in young adulthood at the onset of Ragnarök. The son of emigrant Israelis, Aamir's heritage and his Jewish faith had always prepared him for the end of the world and the defense of his beliefs. He and his mother pulled through it, but their home in New York and the remainder of their family was destroyed. Once the dust settled, Aamir joined the Bureau in an attempt to make the world a better place. However, he disagreed with their fundamental processes and viewed them more as a military regime than protection from assailing forces. He quit the BPRD almost a decade after he had joined and instead began spearheading the movement to restore a democratic government to what was left of the United States of America. He is considered one of the best candidates for a democratic American leader if the process ever goes that far. Ever the idealist and philosopher, Aamir has written many pamphlets and manifestos on the subject of a democratic post-Ragnarök America. (Note: Any neo-government player will need to collaborate and cooperate closely with staff to ensure that there is no god-modding concerning the replacement of the BPRD with a democratic government and the future of BPRD/America.) Abraham "Abe" Sapien
237. IcthyoSapien. BPRD.
Born from the mistakes of Man, Abraham is far from the creature you’d think he’d be. A gentle and kind soul, Abe is a scholar at heart and father-figure to many. The scientific name is IcthyoSapien, but most know him as the fish guy who is able to read the past and future with a mere touch. He took over the mantle as Director of the BPRD, rebuilding the proud establishment and shouldering the responsibility with his good friend, Frankie. Running the BPRD is a full time job and it is rare that he leaves the Colorado base and even rarer he is able to see his children and the woman he will always love; the sacrifices outweigh the burden of his heart.

Aislinn
Ageless. Elf. Nuala's Kingdom
Aislinn was one of the first elves to join Nuala's side when the princess named herself queen. Witnessing the death of King Balor gave Aislinn a distaste for his son. This distaste has given way to unfailing loyalty and support for Nuala. She deplores bloodshed and prefers peaceful methods of persuasion, but she is not so naive as to think those are the only options that should be pursued. Though she looks soft and sweet, Aislinn is deadly with bow and arrow and gives Queen Nuala sage council when she asks for it.

Angelique Collins
26. Human. BPRD
Angelique was just a child when Ragnarök struck, but she remembers little of it. Her grandmother was able to get Angelique and a cousin out of New Orleans before it was taken over by the supernatural, and after months of treacherous travel, they finally made it to the BPRD safe zone. Angelique developed into a soulful singer and music enthusiast as she grew. When the Bureau Broadcasting Network was finally put together, Angelique was one of three chosen to be a DJ, covering the airwaves every day from 2-10 pm. She sometimes treats listeners with covers of classic songs or her own original pieces. Angelique is known for her sass and spitfire, as well as her memorable and infectious laugh.

The Chamberlain
Ageless. Fantastic. Unaffiliated.
The Chamberlain served as the gatekeeper and seneschal of King Balor in happier and far more peaceful times. Now, in a world torn asunder and with two monarchs both claiming the kingdom of Elfland for themselves, the Chamberlain finds himself in a precarious -- and powerful -- position. His support lends validity to the claimant, and though the Chamberlain has refrained from supporting Nuala or Nuada for the past two decades, the time might soon draw near when he voices his support for one of the monarchs and, in doing so, starts an all-out war between brother and sister.

Deidre Walton
45. Human. Unaffiliated
Deidre survived the apocalypse by running her own band of vigilantes throughout the western United States once Los Angeles had been taken over by supernatural forces. Deidre acted as judge, jury, and executioner for many lesser demons as well as human thieves and murderers during her tenure as a vigilante. She had acquired herself quite the following when tech teams from the BPRD ran into her roving band of justiciars. When that happened, Deidre's people were absorbed by the BPRD and she became territorial sheriff for the province of former Utah. She's known for ice-cold justice and a slight bias against anyone who isn't human. Her voice has joined Aamir Ramliyya's rallying cry for democratic government to be restored to America and Deidre is also a contender for leadership when the time comes. (Note: Any neo-government player will need to collaborate and cooperate closely with staff to ensure that there is no god-modding concerning the replacement of the BPRD with a democratic government and the future of BPRD/America.)

The firstborn of Xavier, Eli was the first child to see the world crumble and the first to see it rebuilt. Though a man who is often short of breath from a childhood illness that still plagues him to this day, Eli is a warrior and a soldier who spends most of his time out in the field. The time he spends away is shrouded by the barest of details. It is an unspoken rule to never speak of the gold ring he wears. He is known for being quietly sullen and reserved, but adores his younger siblings and members of the bureau, often bringing little treats home for them. Eli is never seen without a Queensland Heeler simply known as Dog.

Francesca "Frankie" Guidicini
141. Immortal. BPRD
Frankie's been fighting the supernatural as well as men for over one hundred years. Born with a unique healing factor and deadly retractable bones, the woman has not died from any wound afflicted to her and has not physically aged since she entered adulthood. She has an extensive background in espionage which was put to use when she was sent to infiltrate Nuada's kingdom pre-Ragnarök. Surprisingly, Frankie was unsuccessful in her infiltration and abandoned the elven king mid-battle. Their child Riordan was born some months later and, though his paternity is not a publicized fact, there are those who whisper that Frankie had truly betrayed the BPRD when joining with Nuada and only returned when things turned against Nuada on the battlefield. Because of this, there is a general public distrust towards the woman. Frankie serves the BPRD today as co-director, making decisions with her head instead of her heart.

Hector Mercado
37. Human. Unaffiliated
During Ragnarök, Hector's family died and he found a place at the side of his parish priest in Durango, Mexico. Padre Roque instructed Hector on survival skills and fed his soul with God's word. After the final battle, Roque was killed by raiders from what was left of the drug cartels. Hector laid the man to rest and took revenge upon the raiders, killing every single person without prejudice. He asked God for forgiveness and took up the title of priest, spending most of the next twenty years working his way north out of Mexico. He helps those in dire straits, protects the weak, and punishes the wicked. He is skilled in delivering death to evil-doers but always says a prayer afterward for their souls -- and his.

Hope Moon
27. Wendigo. Supernatural.
Hope was just a child when Ragnarök struck. The reservation she lived on was destroyed in the final battle and her entire family perished, leaving her alone. To continue living, she resorted to cannibalism and thus became a Wendigo. She survived alone, preying on hapless beings (human and otherwise) who stumbled into her territory until she was able to find a supernatural community for support. Hope has never known anything other than life as a Wendigo and does not feel remorse for being what she is.

Johann Krauss
135. Ectoplasmic Medium. BPRD
Known in life as a gifted medium, Johann Krauss was later transformed into ectoplasm through a catastrophic event in the 1970s. Professor Trevor Bruttenholm built a containment suit for his new form, giving him a more human appearance. Krauss worked in the German division of the BPRD until 2008, at which time he was brought in to assist Hellboy as Nuada searched for the three crown pieces needed to control the Golden Army. During Ragnarök, his bureaucratic and stiff demeanor softened as he fought for Earth's soul. Several containment suits were destroyed in the process, but he was not. He serves the Bureau still, tutoring students of the Broom Foundation in history and German and going out in the field when needed.

John Myers
53. Human. BPRD
John Myers has been a part of the Bureau for most of his life. Though Hellboy managed to get him transferred to Antarctica due to Myers' crush on Liz, he returned upon hearing of Nuada's victory. He watched many agents and friends die during Ragnarök, including the big red ape and the woman he had felt affection for. The experience changed him forever, cementing his dedication to the eradication of evil and the survival of the human race. Myers has become the head of the Bureau's agents and, though he shouldn't, he reserves a soft spot for Maggie and Trevor. He's known affectionately by students of the Broom Foundation and younger agents of the Bureau as "Senpai," a nickname given in jest by Elijah Foster that surprisingly stuck.

Ken Ashkii
35. Skin-walker. Supernatural
Ken was in that limbo between childhood and adolescence when Ragnarök began. He had lived his entire life on a reservation in the four corners with his grandfather and, for a while, they were safe. But then the supernatural became wildly territorial and Ken's grandfather revealed a family secret: the knowledge of the magic needed to become a skinwalker. Ken and his grandfather survived Ragnarök by changing their shape and staying away from the fighting. When the dust settled, the reservation was gone. Over the years, Ken's grandfather passed away and the lone man found himself thinking of the supernatural as better allies than the humans, especially after the BPRD took over the area Ken once called home. Ken lingers around former Phoenix, mostly keeping to himself and dreaming of what the future might hold.

Laoise
Ageless. Faerie. Supernatural
Laoise does not remember her birth or how she came into being, but she can recall past millenia as though they were yesterday. Tall and radiant, Laoise's voice is musical to all who hear it. This proves useful in luring unsuspecting humans and other beings to be the subjects of her mischief. She has been warded away from most of the supernatural cities on the west coast using iron and rowan, but Laoise delights most in tricking and befuddling wandering humans in no-man's land and even the BPRD's provinces. If spurned, she turns spiteful, and may prove to be a nuisance to the whoever spites her.

Lydia Ramirez
29. Human. Unaffiliated
How Lydia survived Ragnarök is a mystery even to her. She was a child when the Ogdru Jahad demolished her hometown. She watched her family die. She was the subject of delight in the torturous pleasures of demons, sorceresses, and a dhampyr before she reached womanhood. She finally found herself in a relatively safe area in southern Utah, and from that day forward she began her days as a demon slayer. She rarely does it for cash and most often does it just for the satisfaction of ridding the world of evil. Borders do not matter to her; she goes where she wishes as long as she has a chance to make the world a little safer.

Magdalena "Maggie" Katherine Bruttenholm
22. Half-demon. BPRD
The elder of the Bruttenholm twins and named partially for Kate Corrigan, Maggie has taken over the responsibility with gusto. Raised under the tutelage of many, the red skinned babe grew up in unorthodox manner, learning Aramaic and lycanthropy along with her ABC’s. Though she never had the chance to know her father, Maggie takes after him in surly demeanor and attitude. Strong and bullheaded, the life of a Bureau agent and solid force against evil is all she’s known and though she grumbles and whines, she wouldn’t have it any other way. Still, she is often plagued by nightmares of a frightening beautiful creature with wings. Maggie smokes and drinks much to the chagrin of Abe.

King Nuada Silverlance
Ageless. Elf. Silverlance Court
Two bodies, one soul: Nuada shares a bond with his twin, one he is keen to twist and perverse. Self proclaimed king over the supernatural; he brought about the near destruction of Man and continues to pursue the goal of wiping the blight of humanity from the earth. He still thinks himself as a warrior and thus reigns as one, harsh, swift and brutal. Nuada has surrounded himself with an adept court of military officials who are unwavering in their allegiance. Though his kingdom resides in Yellowstone (unknown to all but his closest advisers), Nuada often travels to expand his lands personally. Very few know that he has an heir and even fewer know that the heir is partly human.

Queen Nuala of Elfland
Ageless. Elf. Nuala's Kingdom
Though many, including Nuada, thought her the weaker of the children of King Balor, Nuala has proven herself a strong woman and an adept ruler in the years following Ragnarök. She rules with a firm hand and a gentle spirit and, though the birth of her children took place outside of wedlock and without a proper consort, her people do love her. Duty takes its place first in Nuala's heart, though Abe and their children follow closely behind. Nuala hardly leaves her kingdom, knowing that if she did Nuada would take the opportunity to seize her lands. She is constantly pressured by members of her court to take a proper consort and provide legitimate heirs for the kingdom, but Nuala is resistant to any attempts to move Abe or their children from her heart.

Princess Oona
17. Half-Elf. Nuala's Kingdom
Young, naive and full of ambition, Oona is a typical youth, wishing to stretch her wings and refusing to conform to what an elven princess entails. Taking after her mother in appearance, traces of her father reside in the shadowy blue undertones of her skin and hair. She doesn’t believe in a pacifist lifestyle, finding that a fist gets the point across best. She often meets her mother head on in wake of this. Be it a trait from her parents or a gift unto itself, Oona has a sixth sense about her when things are going bad, she has had an occasional dream here and there but nothing strong enough to call it an ability. She takes archery lessons from Aislinn and has become quite skilled at it.

He is unable to travel without the safety of water, relying on the fresh flow of it to breath with ease. His father built him a breathing apparatus, sleek in design, it is easy to hide beneath clothing.

Riordan Silverlance
21. Half-Elf. BPRD
Though Riordan is a child of two worlds, he knows far more about his human heritage than elven. His mother never hid who his father was from him and he feels completely comfortable asking Nuala questions concerning his elven heritage, whether it be through letters or the rare times they see each other in person. He does not flaunt his paternity; to do so would bring unwanted attention and dangerous possibilities to himself, his mother, and his Bureau family. Riordan was raised side-by-side with Maggie and Trevor and considers them his two closest friends. An adventurous and mischievous childhood and adolescence easily turned into a rambunctious and sometimes reckless adulthood. Even so, he fulfilled his childhood wish of becoming a BPRD agent less than a year after Maggie and Trevor gained their own badges and he serves in the position with enthusiasm. He's inherited some of his mother's healing factor and, one assumes, the longevity of both her and his father. Riordan appears to be a laid back young man, having an affinity for flip flops and wearing his hair long.

Roger the Homunculus
Ageless. Homunculus. BPRD
Roger the Homunculus was discovered in the recesses of a medieval alchemy lab. While his discovery did trigger a destructive chain of events, Roger ultimately was brought to the Bureau in a comatose state when all was said and done after proving himself useful in the destruction of his brother, a giant and deadly homunculus. He stayed in this state until after the destruction of the BPRD in New Jersey. Once he was safely evacuated to Colorado, Tabby was able to rig up a generator to bring him out of his static state. He joined in the battles during Ragnarök and ultimately survived. These days he lingers around the Bureau, sometimes going out in the field but prefers to stay closer to home and tend the base's greenhouse or, when able, travels to help in the agricultural areas of the BPRD.

Saul Levine
38. Werewolf. Silverlance Court
Saul's mother was the one who made sure her son became a lycanthrope. Ragnarök had begun on the east coast and the single mother in Michigan knew that her sickly son wouldn't have a chance to survive otherwise. There had been a rampant rumor of a beast prowling the Michigan peninsula, and so she offered her son as a sacrifice, so to speak, so that he could survive. After Saul's transformation into a werewolf was complete, he never saw his mother again. The time came to choose a side and he chose Nuada -- he was part of Nuada's world now and he should fight for himself, not the world of man. Saul began as a foot-soldier kept as a reserve in case the Golden Army failed. When it did in that final battle, Saul exhibited terrifying violence and a penchant for destruction. After the dust settled, Saul was given the task of securing Nuada's borders and has done so fantastically. He shows no mercy for humans and even less deference for members of the BPRD. Today, he serves as the general of Nuada's army and one of his trusted advisers.

Spicy Campbell

Spicy was the daughter of sharecroppers in Tennessee in the late 1800s. One night she slipped out of the house with a boy who was courting her and never came back. She and her beau were attacked by a vampire, and while he died, the vampire chose to sire her. Spicy didn't want this fate and killed her sire, resolving to feed upon animals instead of humans. She spent most of the next century roaming the southern United States until Nuada destroyed New York City. She had a choice then -- she could linger in the shadows and wait for this all to blow over, or she could join something larger. After weighing the odds, Spicy elected to join Nuala's side. She was at the final battle when rubble blotted out the sun and the fate of Earth was decided. After witnessing the death of the old world, Spicy is determined to have a hand in the creation of a new and better one.

Steve was just some kid from Denver who spent most of his days in his grandfather's attic listening to old vinyl records when Ragnarök hit. Denver survived much better than most other places, and Steve and his family came through generally unscathed. His father got a job as a cook at the Bureau and his mother helped out refurbishing old vehicles for the new ethanol engines and doing maintenance on them. Steve has been on and off the Bureau base for most of his life and was actually the person who first suggested the idea of the Bureau Broadcasting Network. When it was established, he and his grandfather's collection of vinyl records secured the graveyard shift from 10 pm to 6 am every day. A rampant insomniac, he thrives on it and keeps listeners entertained and informed all night long with a long list of useless trivia.

Tabby Whitman-Foster
47. Human. BPRD
Though much has changed for the once bubbly and loud tech girl who was groomed to work for the BPRD, you wouldn't notice it. Tabby was handpicked and vetted to work for the BPRD right out of high school. She began serving the Bureau by doing technical things like wire and maintain equipment, hack computers, and build and repair weapons. Along the way, a one-night stand with Xavier Foster (the medical examiner old enough to be her father) turned into something more and then the apocalypse came along. Tabby handled it pretty well until the day she received the news that her hometown of Palmyra, New York and her entire family had been obliterated by Nuada's Army. Something changed then and the formerly bubbly and casual techie turned into a determined workaholic, doing whatever she could to give the Bureau's technology an edge. She survived, became a step-mother to Elijah when married Foster, had his children and adopted some more, and headed efforts to rebuild the power, communications, and water grids across the BPRD provinces as well as refurbish vehicles with ethanol engines. And in that time, she's recouped her bubbliness and maybe even a bit of that loud naive girl that the Bureau picked out so many years ago.

Trevor Thomas Bruttenholm
22. Pyrokinetic. BPRD
It isn't easy being the progeny of the man who destroyed the world and a pyrokinetic revered for her unstable ability, but Trevor manages. He takes after his mother in looks and abilities, though he's able to control his pyrokinesis far more than Liz Sherman ever did. He's quieter than his sister, but that doesn't mean he's meeker. Oh no, he matches Maggie pound for pound in determination and grit if not in size. He and Maggie have always been paired together, but he wouldn't mind getting his own recognition once in a while. His thoughts at night are occasionally troubled with a winged beast and he deals with his frustrations through art. He's partially named for Tom Manning, who sacrificed himself at the beginning of Ragnarök to ensure that the most of the Bureau could be evacuated.

The apocalypse left a lot of orphans and a lot of shattered families, but Toufic was able to find friendship discussing music with other kids who had also lost their parents. Toufic's voice developed into a rich baritone that brought joy to anyone's ear whether the man was talking or singing to himself. When the Bureau Broadcasting Network formed, Toufic threw his hat into the ring, thinking he could program playlists or something. He never expected to be made DJ, but he was. He works from 6 am to 2 pm every day and is known for international and easy-listening tunes.

Xavier Clyde Foster
70. Human. BPRD
The man of a million thoughts and none of them coherent, Xavier is and will always be a space case. Foster, or Doc as he’s mostly known as nowadays, is the Bureau’s top physician, taking care of human and supernatural individuals. He wasn’t always a doctor and didn’t always know about the supernatural but one tends to learn fast when one’s dating a BPRD agent. He was a medical examiner in his late 40s and divorced with a young child when he first met Tabby and fell absolutely head over heels for the spirited gal. When the world seemed to come to an end, Xavier and his son were given sanctuary with the Bureau in return for his medical services. Foster lost most of his family and ex-wife in the battle over the earth but in the midst of sorrow, he stayed strong for his son and married Tabby and realized the family he always wanted. Over the years, three became eleven and though he’s turned seventy recently, Xavier has aged gracefully and, save for his peppered hair and a few more wrinkles, he hasn’t changed much.

Yurii Feodorovitch
54. Human. Unaffiliated
Yurii was born near the Ural Mountains in Russia. He fell into a life of crime early on and rose to the highest echelons of the vory v zakone before Nuada's deeds inspired other supernatural elements across the world to revolt. Yurii and some of his criminal brethren stole a yacht to escape the horrors of the dead coming back to life in Russia and headed for the United States. Yurii alone washed up on the shores of post-Ragnarök Washington and then had to fight his way through Nuada's territory. After the perilous journey and months of fighting, it was a relief when Yurii stumbled into BPRD territory. After the hardships and the perilous journey, Yurii decided he was going to do something that made a difference to these new people, and prove that he had a purpose for living still. He began by coordinating a black market and food storage program to use in emergencies, and even began growing his own unreported crops in Idaho with the help of a few more survivors. He was so successful that the Bureau didn't even know about the missing food and the crops until ten years after he arrived. They offered Yurii a place with the agricultural division, and he accepted. He still has a place with the AD making sure that crops are cultivated efficiently and distributed equally. He is well-know and liked among the rural populace of the BPRD, who would like to see him as leader of any new government that might be established.(Note: Any neo-government player will need to work and cooperate closely with staff to ensure that there is no god-modding concerning the replacement of the BPRD with a democratic government and the future of BPRD/America.)

THE CULT OF ANUNG UN RAMA
The Cult of Anung un Rama sprang up after the Ragnarök. They believe that Hellboy was a god that would have eventually brought Earth into paradise had he not prematurely died. Instead, they now have a vested interest in Trevor and Maggie Bruttenholm, thinking that one or both of the twins can complete their father's work. While they have had their hiccups (mainly an inferno that erupted in 2012 that destroyed much of former Los Angeles), they continue to gain followers. The Cult is frowned upon in BPRD territories, but the Bureau has more important things to worry about. Their creed is, "Through fire we shall rise again."
