This covers OOC, IC and characters. By joining DoW, you're agreeing you've read the rules, understand them in full and will obey them. Abe and Frankie are all too happy to be of service to you to make your stay here enjoyable and are readily available when needed. ◊ DoW is an intermediate game. Make sure to double check your spelling, grammar and punctuation. DoW does not have a word count, though we like to see well thought out posts. Quality over quantity. ◊ DoW will not be allowing anyone under the age of 16 to join. The game is rated M, somewhere between PG-13 and R. There will be some language, violence and adult situations. No arguments. A fade to black rule is in effect. ◊ Play nice. DoW will not stand for any racism and bigotry directed towards a fellow player. We are all writers and enjoyers of Hellboy and the supernatural genre and if you believe yourself above this, there is no one keeping you here. Any abuse toward one another OOCly will be dealt with swiftly and efficiently. ◊ One character to an account. Every character has a name and display names must be their first and last name in proper standard capitalization. If a character uses an alias or prefers a nickname, then that is equally acceptable. ◊ Currently there is no set character limit. Try not to overwhelm yourself, Abe knows the shininess of making new characters. ◊ Remain active, it’s no fun to leave others waiting. If you feel the need to step away for more than week, leave a little message and staff will gladly watch over your characters until you return. There is the occasional clean sweep and if you haven’t posted within a month’s time without a heads up, you could be removed. If this does happen, you are, of course, welcome to join back up. ◊ Avatars are 150 x 250 (width by length) and can be of your character or relating to your characters. We do not allow signatures, avatars are more than ample to distinguish your character. ◊ Staff do not require face claims/play bys but you are more than welcome to use them. DoW is only accepting real life actors, actresses (including those in makeup and prosthetics), models, singers, etc as suitable PBs. No comic, cartoon, anime, manga, CGI or drawings allowed. No personal photos of yourself, the Internet is a scary place full of creepies and you don't need to put yourself out there. ◊ Watch the Mary Sue/Gary Stu line. The supernatural genre seems to a melting pot for these. Perfection is unachievable and though we struggle for it, your character’s flaws are what make them beautiful. ◊ When a WIP bio is posted, you have one solid week to complete it. If you need more time, simply send a PM to Abe stating you need a few extra days. If nothing has been said, then staff will move the bio into archives. If your bio is in need of changes and staff has commented on it, you have one week to do so. If nothing, it goes into archives. ◊ All role playing posts are to be written in third person, past tense. This, of course, does not count for journals or personal text unless you enjoy talking about yourself in the third. In that case, go for it. ◊ No messing with the default text color or alignment in the RPG area only. Feel free to go wild with your character extras and OOC. Abe is blind enough as it is, he doesn’t want to read neon pink text with a yellow highlight. Please, think of the fish man. ◊ We do run on liquid time and though we don’t have a set limit of how many threads you can be, don’t tempt Abe to make one. Relax, take it easy and don’t overload yourself. ◊ Every new thread is required to have a time stamp, this helps everyone keep track of who, what and where threads are. Whoever starts a thread, the very first post must have a timestamp. [b]Timeframe:[/b] (Morning, Evening, Night)◊ Do not control the actions of any character that is not yours. This includes auto hitting and auto blocking. No one is invincible. Keep it real and everyone’s happy. Remember, in character does not mean out of character. What happens in the game, stays in the game and is not the reflection of a player’s own personal thoughts and beliefs. ◊ Make sure to read through the FAQ, it might answer any questions you may have. Staff reserves the right to add and alter the rules as we see fit in order to provide a stable and fair gaming place. |
