The Potential
Alignment/Occupation: He sides with the realm of the fantastic.
Weapons: The silver lance of his namesake, a hearty weapon in the hands of one who knows how to weld it. Inland with gold, archaic symbols decorate the hilt, weaving a story of strength and power. Wrapped in black leather for an easy grip, it is a unassuming weapon until Nuada releases a hidden section that extends the handle into a proper length lance, making for wider sweeps and arcs.
Personality: Upon first impression, Nuada appears like a power hungry Prince, bent on destroying the world and making it in his image. He desires the earth to be returned to it’s rightful children, Man’s greed has destroyed the truce and taken over the forest of his people forcing them to hide and live underground. The time for peace and truces has long since past and the Prince of Elves is beyond pity. He sees the only path to take is one through force and war. He is the darker half of the twins, the link between them will never change the fact that he loves his beloved sister but he is willing to sacrifice everything to attain what he wants. His heart is cold and indifferent to the affections of others and has no time for idyllic romance or childish friendships. He longs for return of the earth and all of its forests back to his people. It has been far too long since he has touched grass under bare feet and listened to the wind whispering in the trees. A simple pastime is tinkering with random objects of magic and training with his weapons. He cannot always be on the run and often he uses this as a tool to calm himself.
He despises Man and what they have done to the earth. The man called Abraham Sapien, though Nuada dislikes the Bureau as a while, that single man took his sister’s heart away. The death of anything mythical bothers him to this day, though he may never show it, it only works to harden his heart even more. His greatest fear is that he will fall short of what he has made a promise to do. The only thing that stands in his way is the BPRD and the ill tempered Hellboy. He thwarted the Prince once and spared his life, but Nuada has his qualms about the next time they cross paths.
Skills: Nuada welds his lance with an expertise, even after exile he trained himself to the fine tuned precision of a warrior.
Strengths: Nuada is a leader and he can take command of anything from a vast army to a simple village of fae. His time before exiling himself was filled with schooling and etiquette lessons so that he may one day take over the role of King when it was passed to him. The telepathic bond he carries with his sister, without the aid of their father, he has learned to delve deeper to peer into Nuala’s heart. As she grows stronger, so does he.
Weaknesses: The link between himself and Nuala, as it is a strength it is also a weakness. She is capable of knowing his thoughts and whereabouts and in the most dire of situation, harm him by the bond. His hatred for the race of Man has been building, growing darker with each passing day to the point now that there is nothing left worthy enough to spare for Man.
The Story
History: Nuada and Nuala were born into a world of forests, where magic and fae coexisted with the realm of Man but the age of peace did not last long. Growing up, the elven twins shared a bond no mortal could understand, in fact no one foresaw the inseparable tie the siblings had until Nuada injured his shoulder and in reply, Nuala bleed with him. Wary of this newfound union, the Prince turned against the pacifist ways of his sister to follow in the militaristic view of their father. He led countless armies against Man but fell back, defeated by their might.
It was then the Lord over all goblins came to the King with the whispering promise of an unstoppable army. Made from the depths of the earth seventy times seventy, they would need no rest or food or love, their loyalty was to the one that bore the crown. Nuada persuaded his father to build in and in doing so, the army was set out to destroy the enemy. To the dismay of the King, the Golden army killed everyone in it’s path, man, woman and child. Saddened, Balor locked away the army and split the crown into three pieces, giving one the race of Man in a truce. Nuada turned his back to his family and idealist views, becoming an exile with the promise that he would return when his people needed him most. King Balor saw the difference in his children and it pained him to no end, allowing his son to leave the Elven kingdom.
Days turned into weeks, into months and years. The earth changed as Man grew, pushing the fae folk further and further away. Many forgot about them, destroying homes and forcing them to live underground. Nuada watched from the shadows as his people grew despondent until the day a piece of the crown showed up in a nearby city in an art auction. With the aid of his friend Wink, Nuada took back the crown piece and returned to his kingdom. He begged his father to reawakened the army and when Balor refused, the Prince killed him and claimed the second piece of the crown. He went after the third piece, under the care of his sister but soon lost her in the Troll Market. Nuada sent Wink after her and it wasn’t until news of his supposed death reached him, did the Prince come into contact with the BPRD crew.
After sending a Forest god after them, Nuada took that moment to propose an offer to Hellboy, to join him in his cause. He then retreated to let the demon think over his words as the battle raged off. After the death of the god, Nuada tracked down his sister, finding his way to the Bureau and stole her away, using her as a bargaining chip to attain the last piece of the crown. He left with the map that would lead him to the hiding place of the Golden army, leaving behind a mortally wounded Hellboy and troubled Abraham. He knew they would come for him and bring the crown piece, the aquatic man never strayed far from his sister and he knew to use it against them. When they arrived, he tricked the team into giving him the last remaining piece and brought forth the Golden army.
In the hollow of the earth, the home of the fable Golden Army, two Princes fought. One of the Elven blood, the other of demon. The fate of the world rested between their clashing swords and when Prince Nuada fell and was spared by the illustrious Hellboy he retreated back into the shadows to rebuild and gain an army worthy of Fae.
