Some input on my ideas for the Chamberlain?

So, between flailing like a madman and crying with happiness in the shower, I've started to work at my app for the Chamberlain. I love that you've put him in the middle of the siblings - makes for so many delicious possibilities in gaming.

I would however like the mods' opinion on his history and actions during the war to explain his current unaffiliated status.

So far I've imagined that the big C has never been very found of Nuada due to his dark nature and open disrespect to proper proceedings. When Balor was killed, he held the court together because he couldn't figure out what else to do.

When the golden army was unleashed though, he abandoned his duty and fled to safety with some butcher guards and non-elf servants. I was thinking maybe he took like the book of Royal History or something similar with him for safekeeping? Something that is important for the legitimacy of the ruler of Elfland?

Anyway, he's stayed hidden for twenty years because even if he doesn't like Nuada much, he doesn't want to side with Nuala either and risk being killed. Her having little guppies with Abe is also not something he looks very kindly upon.

Now he's getting sick of staying hidden though and wants to come back to a proper court setting and resume his duties. I was thinking maybe he'll meet with Nuada to test the waters and see how big the chances are that he keeps his head...?

I am leaning towards him joining Nuada's court, just 'cause it'd make for such delicious banter. ;D

Everything sounds absolutely wonderful to me! This is so exciting! I really really like your idea of him having the royal book -- perhaps it could have the lineage of the elves in it as well as rules for succession as a way to legitimize either of Nuada or Nuala's rule? If that helps?

I'm pretty excited as well. Yeah, the history and line of sucession sounds like something that should be important enough to back up Nuada/Nuala. I was thinking the book also will contain the ritual for crowning the next ruler of Elfland? It's as much about owning the book as carrying out the rituals within it.

I don't what to call it though - the Book of Court, the Bethmoora Chronicles?
