*cracks fingers*
So, like I've stated in my character's back story, the big C has decided to step up and choose which one of the royal twins to support. He's not a big fan of Nuada, but he's doubting that Nuala will prevail over her brother.
Since there's no Nuala as of yet, I was wondering if maybe Nuada would be interested in a thread? I was thinking the Chamberlain comes to visit during the tributes to check out if Nuada's digs are solid enough for him to whip out the Book of Court and crown him king?
At this point he is desperate to get his old life back, but he wants to test the waters first and see what kind of deal he can strike.
I'd like to work out some sort of plan for how the thread will go so it won't dwindle due to lack of inspiration.
Aaaand if anyone else wants to thread with me, just hit me up and we'll discuss about how to torture our babies.

I would like to offer up my characters, though I seriously have no idea how/why they'd even meet! Frankie was a double agent for the BPRD with Nuada's forces at one time, though I don't think the Chamberlain would have been around. Riordan's a field agent and Nuada's bastard, but that's not publicly known. And Tabby... well, she's awesome and likes tech. She could maybe bump into the Chamberlain on a recovery mission into no man's land. Do any of those tickle your fancy?

Hm, hm, hm...!
Nope, the Chamberlain wouldn't know about Frankie or Riordan. If he did know about the latter, he'd be pretty shocked. Half-breed bastard children are highly improper after all!
Tabby bumping into the Chamberlain on a field mission sounds most plausible. Maybe she's checking out the factory where he and the others are hiding?
As long as she doesn't pose a threat, the butcher guards wouldn't harm her. Though I think the Chamberlain would be a huge pompous ass because of her humanity and try to send her off like a naughty child.
However if she invoked the old tradition of guest right, his OCD-mind would feel obligated to give her sanctuary and something to eat. Maybe she can update him a bit how the war is going?
The one problem though is that after the meeting, he'd have one of the servants wipe her memory or make her so disorientated that she wouldn't be able to tell if it was a dream or reality, as Fae folk often do. Got a remedy for that or would you mind her mind being messed with?
Oh, I love plotting! ;D

That sounds like an idea! Depending on what the factory was used for pre-Ragnarök, Tabby could have split apart from her recovery team and explored it to see if she could salvage anything useful! Bahahaha, the only threat Tabby poses is breaking someone's arms from too much hugging. Generally. She'll probably be like, "OH HAI, YOU GUYS WANNA COME LIVE IN BUREAU BOUNDARIES? IT'S LEGIT, TRUFAX." And she's up for all the scolding he feels is necessary. I really like this plan a lot! And as long as it was her immediate memory -- just that of the Chamberlain and his home, I'd be completely fine with that! Chick does not need to relearn that she has nine kids. That would be a nasty shock.

How about a motor factory, like the one Toyota has in Georgetown, Kentucky? Lots of juicy spare parts and tools for her. ;D
And yes, the mindmeddling would just affect her memory of the meeting. The Chamberlain wouldn't want anyone come checking out why someone lost their memory in his digs. He's pretty paranoid at this point.

Please do. I tried starting writing, but inspiration just wasn't coming. Plus I think it'll make a better intro with Tabby's perspective.
Looking forward to it! ;D

BAM, SONI didn't want to get too specific with how things are at the Chamberlain's little slice of not-so-paradise, so if you'd like anything tweaked, please let me know.

Haha!! Wanted to wait to make sure I got Nuada approved before I did any planning. Rules, yo.
I'd love to do a Nuada and Chamberlain thread! He might not be too happy to see him, if he didn't already think the creature died in Ragnarok. Nuada might just end up effing with him before his council goes, no wait, this is good. We can use him.

Sounds awesome. ;D The Chamberlain can't fathom Nuada calling himself king without going about it the proper way, but also knows that the prince is completely capable of following up on his threat from the last time they met. He's probably gonna be a pretty interesting mix between pompous, scared witless and really, really desperate to sleep in a proper bed again.
Plus, as he doesn't know about Riordan, Nuada is actually the better alternative as heir to throne at the moment.

Sounds like the King can offer him everything he wants, a hot meal, a warm bed, beautiful clothes, all in exchange to unify his people even more. I wouldn't call Nuada a cruel king (yes I would) but because he's so focused on his goal, he makes it hard for his people to like him. They only see one aspect, one side of him and having the Chamberlain reassuring them of their great king and all the good that he does, doesn't hurt.
Riordan and Frankie are his dirty little secrets.

Okay, I really think I want the Chamberlain joining Nuada now. It sounds like they'd have such an awesome antagonistic relationship with the Chamberlain trying to uphold the traditions and Nuada thinking he can go stuff it.
So how should we start? I was thinking that the Chamberlain just has enough and hauls himself across the border with the butcher guards and the remaining servants to seek an audience with Nuada during the tributes.
His excuse would be really weak, like "Just wanted to pay my respects to the prince and see how things are going with the whole obliteration of the human race." He'll make a point of calling Nuada prince, not king, since he does not consider him a proper king without being crowned. There's a way to fix that though, you know, in exchange for a position at court and some decent food. ;D
