Hai. My name is Patrick and I live in France, which means that nobody's online when I'm online, except if it's really late for me (sadface.png). I used to be a member here back in 2010 or something, if anyone remembers. I'm 23 and I do part-time work as an English teacher, and I'm also studying archaeology at university. It's quite a handful! Other than that I'm an aspiring (but rather crappy) writer and I'm "working" on a novel (if thinking about it and doing no writing whatsoever counts as work). I'm also a big fan of Soviet/Russian history, lost civilisations and Metro 2033. I also really enjoy listening to strange industrial music. Oh, and I also all the Hellboy and B.P.R.D. comics Aaaand that's about it. *scuttles off*

I totes remember! *Flails all over creation* I'm so glad you're here again! Oh my! Neat! Are you studying for an undergraduate degree or a post-graduate degree? When I studied, I thought about minoring in archaeology, but the only anthropology professor I've ever had left a bad taste in my mouth. Thinking totally counts. How else are you going to plot it? And that is so cool! One of my favorite professors at uni specializes in Soviet history and spends much of her time interviewing dissidents for scholarly reasons! I am rather fond of the Romanovs, myself, and get all irrationally weepy about the Revolution. Trufax. Again, it's so lovely to have you here!

I'm an undergraduate. Archaeology's an old dream of mine that I decided to pursue after four very unhappy years of wondering and confusion. It's a tough subject, though. Also, I fuckin' love Frankie. She's such a great character

Of course we remember you!
I've never been good at history, but I'm really good at remembering useless information. So you know, in case you need to know the size of a grey kangaroo's heart or something. Its roughly the size of your fist. But wow, that sounds like quite a workload.
Frankie's right, the first step is wanting to do it. I've always had dreams of writing a novel too and it's a lovely idea. You have the tenacity to do it!

Hello again friend! oUo
I remember you if only by your character's name ._.
it's awesome seeing you here again! I actually have a friend going to France for a while soon and my sister will be there for another couple days before she heads back home.
I really know next to nothing about Russian history, though I do know the basic myth of Baba Yaga.
I'd recommend writing down your basic ideas for your novel and expanding from there if you're looking for a place to start. I too have stories brewing in my skull but I'm far better at short stories, I just have so little patience.
