"I am just saying you two..." Kasim said, his tone still full of warning. "Just don't give me a reason to have to expel one of you and lock-down the other." With that, Kasim reverted to his posture of standing up straight and locking wrists.
As the two spoke, he wondered if all suits just blended into the wallpaper or, in this case, steel with their charges. Kasim let out a little inward sigh and payed attention to the conversation.
OOC: I didn't know what else to post...but Kasim's suiting it up!

Evadne sighed, shaking her head. This Anton person was exsaperating. "Look Mr. Arkins, my name is not 'blondy' as you seem to think it is. It's Agent Taylor or Evadne." She pointed out quickly growing annoyed at the nickname he seemed to have bestowed upon her. She'd lived a long time and despite that, she'd never actually gotten use to the daily rudeness people inflicted upon each other. She of course didn't count, because, well she wasn't human.
>>"Aye right? But here I sit, having done the very thing you doubt. But hey, looks can be conceiving eh? Look at yourself for example. I doubt this little agency would just take on any ol' little girl. And you look what, late teens early twenties? So I'm sittin' here guessing that the little girly frame belies something big and nasty," Anton said, his wide smile turning to something a bit more relaxed.<<
Evadne decided that his comments weren't even worth answering to at that moment. She wasn't sure if he were merely trying to be chatty or catty, but either way she wasn't about to rise to his bait. Girly frame? Did people still talk like that? Talk about a backwards step for Women's Lib.
>>"Now we come to it eh? Was I right? You walk down in here, more confident than any girl I've seen that looks your age. You skin as pale as this biter I knew up in St. Petersburg, your dress sense just as black. I'm thinking you a...ah shit what's the word? I had this nice little speech goin' here and I forget the damn word...vampire! Vampire that's it. Yeah, that's what I think. Wouldn't have kept at it neither, if you hadn't stressed out about it like you did."<<
Evadne's eyebrow shot up again and she glanced over at Kasim with a look that basically asked if this guy was serious. He'd made the assumption that she was a vampire partly because she wore black?! She looked back at Anton and this time she just smiled sweetly at him, fine.. She'd play nice with him... For the moment. "I didn't get stressed over your assumptions," She corrected. "Though I have to admit, despite your ways of going about with your assumptions, you are indeed correct."
>>"I am just saying you two..." Kasim said, his tone still full of warning. "Just don't give me a reason to have to expel one of you and lock-down the other." With that, Kasim reverted to his posture of standing up straight and locking wrists.<<
Turning her head, Evadne focused on Kasim. "I think I'm behaving rather well, thank you. I haven't bitten him yet." She pointed out with the most innocent expression.

>>"Look Mr. Arkins, my name is not 'blondy' as you seem to think it is. It's Agent Taylor or Evadne,"<< She pointed out clearly becoming agitated. Anton thought it was cute that she kept denying how easily he was getting under her skin.
"You don't have to call me Mr.Arkins blon-Evadne. Excuse me, eh? I'm pronouncing that right aren't I? Evadne? Nice name, European right? Italian or Greek or somethin," Anton said with a yawn. "But you can just be callin' me Arkins, or Anton if you're so inclined. No need for the Mr. The name will do just fine."
>>"I didn't get stressed over your assumptions," She corrected<< (more denial in Anton's eyes) >>"Though I have to admit, despite your ways of going about with your assumptions, you are indeed correct."<<
Anton laughed, hopping up to pace the room some. "Ah good on me then! Get to chalk that up to my keen observations eh? Now, I know what I'm gonna say next is gonna be met with some supposedly snappy comeback, where you'll call me a moron or some other unimaginative insult or shoot another thinly veiled threat my way; but you know, I'd consider investing in a tannin' lamp if I were you. At least get rid of some of that unearthly pale glow see? I guess assuming one of them won't murder yah though... Wouldn't of guessed vampire if you'd been a normal shade you know? Wouldn't of guessed period. Would've just been interested in how a fine upstanding attractive blond girl came to be working down here."

With that, Kasim reverted to his posture of standing up straight and locking wrists. Turning her head, Evadne focused on Kasim. "I think I'm behaving rather well, thank you. I haven't bitten him yet." She pointed out with the most innocent expression.<<
"Aye eh? We all think we're behaving as nice as can be don't we?" Arkins began laughing quietly to himself.

Kasim fidgeted nervously. "I am simply just trying to ensure that you two don't have an incident like earlier today that I have to break up or perhaps have to drawn down in." He said patiently. "After what you did earlier today, you certainly can't blame me for using caution." The kid that Arkins had hurt had come to the Bureau at the same time as Kasim. Kasim had adapted rather quickly, while the kid was still finding it awkward. That was probably one of the reasons he had been hung out to dry so easily. And here Kasim was, guarding the man.

Evadne supposed she could have responded to Anton's remarks, but for the time being - she was through playing the word games with him. To be honest, her curiousity had been fed and well, she really didn't think all that much of the man. Sure he had a smooth lines and she supposed if he wanted he could be charming. But those sorts of people always seemed like an incredible waste of space to her.
She looked over at Kasim again and flashed him an amused grin of sorts. "Oh Kasim, and here I'd been thinking you didn't care. Trying to use to the whole honor system?" Her grin grew a bit impish. "I hope you know that I don't need any big strong men protecting me, but it is sweet of you to be concerned..." She trailed off as her blue eyes widened, "Or... Are you protecting him from the big bad vampire?"

"My my, I certainly don't blame you at all Mr.Chionesu. Or is that Agent Chionesu? Or Kasim. Or whatever you prefer I guess. Don't particularly feel the need to rub you the wrong way anymore, seeing as you have the shit job of babysittin'," Arkins said with a surprisingly polite nod.
Anton, apart from being a violent, rude, and insulting man - was at the very least honest. Kasim had been one of the few people that deigned to at least treat Anton like a human being, regardless of his actions. Of course, this was likely due to orders from on high, but Arkins could respect a man who did his duty; even if that man was his jailer.

"To be honest, it's probably the second one," Arkins said with a shrug. "Without my magic I'm just one more mortal berk runnin' about. Regardless of my training, I got a feeling that you'd knock me about like a wee little doll," he continued, stopping his pacing to approach the bars. "Not that saying I wouldn't fight back, and who knows, you get cocky enough I might figure a way to stop yah. But the chances are slim to none eh?" Arkins continued with a slight laugh, "Can't say it'd be a total waste though. If a man has to go out like that, I could think of scant few more pleasant ways than getting manhandled by a pretty girl."
Arkins laughed again, softly, and scratched his chin. "You know, I never got to ask the biter up in St. Petersburg. But with a man like me, does the magic in the blood give it an extra kick? Or does it make it taste like bilge water? Not that I would say blood tastes that great, but then, I aint right built to drink it. A regular joe human could hold what...three pints of the stuff in their stomach before gettin' ill right?"

>>"To be honest, it's probably the second one," Arkins said with a shrug.<<
Frowning slightly, Evadne's gaze turned to Arkins again. She would have pointed out that she'd been talking to Kasim, but well... Arkins kept on talking.
>>"Without my magic I'm just one more mortal berk runnin' about. Regardless of my training, I got a feeling that you'd knock me about like a wee little doll," he continued, stopping his pacing to approach the bars. Arkins continued with a slight laugh, "Can't say it'd be a total waste though. If a man has to go out like that, I could think of scant few more pleasant ways than getting manhandled by a pretty girl."<<
Her eyebrows perked and she crossed her arms under her chest as she continued to stare at Arkins. The things that left the man's mouth left her wondering if he was going to make it a constant habit to open his mouth and try devour his foot. "You have got to be kidding," She muttered, her expression showing that she really had stopped being amused by him.
>>Arkins laughed again, softly, and scratched his chin. "You know, I never got to ask the biter up in St. Petersburg. But with a man like me, does the magic in the blood give it an extra kick? A regular joe human could hold what...three pints of the stuff in their stomach before gettin' ill right?"<<
Sneaking a peek over at Kasim, Evadne couldn't help but wonder how fast the man could actually move. Would he be able to stop her before she reached out and accidentally snapped Arkins neck? Sighing, she decided that now wasn't the time to try and maybe at some later point the man behind the bars might actually not make a complete ass of himself.
"Why do you want to know?" She asked, looking back at Arkins. She uncrossed her arms and reached up, flicking a stray lock of hair out of her eyes. "If you must know, there really isn't a difference. Though... It's been a while since I've actually had the pleasure of having drinking any sort of blood from anyone..." She took a step toward the bars, a smile beginning to form on her lips. "Perhaps... You'd like to volunteer for a test subject?"

>>"Why do you want to know?" She asked, looking back at Arkins. She uncrossed her arms and reached up, flicking a stray lock of hair out of her eyes.<<
Arkins took a deep breath, shrugging slightly. For all her eye rolling and effortlessly rude behavior, she was still mildly intrigued. At least enough to stick around.
"I dunno," He said calmly, "Boredom. I'm kinda stuck in here, and you came on down to visit."
>> "If you must know, there really isn't a difference. Though... It's been a while since I've actually had the pleasure of having drinking any sort of blood from anyone..." She took a step toward the bars, a smile beginning to form on her lips. "Perhaps... You'd like to volunteer for a test subject?" <<
"Fair enough," Arkins replied with a yawn to her answer, "And no offense, but I'd rather not have you nibbling on one of my major arteries. There are few things a person wants sucked, blood is usually not one of them."
Arkins yawned again, and began to pace infront of the bars, a slight smile playing on his face. The vampires boring, unimaginative threats, and her unfaltering 'big dog' persona was starting to grow boring to Arkins. Perhaps it was time to shake it up a bit more.
"So," he began, still smiling idly as he paced, "It seems you're in the mood to answer a question or two, and I think this one begs answering."
Arkins stopped finally, standing infront of Evadne and crossing his arms behind him. He showed not a hint of fear, though knowing full well she could reach him from this distance.
"What's keeping you here eh? You clearly don't like me, and I can hardly blame you, what with all the perceived insults you struggled so hard to take from me. It's plain you decided you didn't like me the moment you came in the room. So why are you still here? Why don't you leave, and head on off back to your dark little room? Find something intriguing in the crass, dirty, red head?" Arkins said carefully, keeping eye contact with Evadne as he gave her a nice bright smile.

Evadne shrugged," None taken." She really wouldn't have taken any blood from him to begin with, it had just been a thing to say, and well see how he responded.

"Well you see, that's where you're wrong. I don't dislike you. Because you see, I'd actually have to care enough to do that," Evadne corrected with a smug little smile.
She chuckled, shaking her head. She had to admit that his ... obviously delusion theories about her had her a bit amused. "You've been watching too many Dracula movies, haven't you?" She asked suddenly, ignoring his question about why she was still there for the moment. "I'll have you know, I actually have a rather nice room and one thing it is not is... dark and small. Though, even if it were, I'm sure anything would be nicer than this." She motioned towards his jail cell.
Tilting her head to the side, she watched him quietly for a few moments. "Now, as to why I'm still here?" She shrugged, not really knowing the answer to that one herself. "I suppose I really had nothing better to do."

>>"Well you see, that's where you're wrong. I don't dislike you. Because you see, I'd actually have to care enough to do that," Evadne corrected with a smug little smile.<<
Arkins couldn't help it, he laughed. She didn't dislike him? She didn't care about what he said? Then why had she gotten so bothered about his remarks on vampires...or hell, anything else? These kind of people were Arkins favorites. The ones that pretended they didn't have any emotions. No emotional responses, no feelings, no...anything. Clearly it was impossible to be human, even part human - as vampires sort of were, and fail to feel emotion. She was backtracking, correcting herself, and overall, still trying to play top-dog. It was nothing he hadn't seen before, but it was still fun to play with.
He didn't bother to respond.

"I bet it's nicer than my cell. Hell, this cell is nicer than any I've seen before.. Though when I said 'dark little room' it was hardly a statement of fact. It was just an expression. Try less hard would you? I have far more glaring flaws that you could poke fun at," Arkins said with a relaxed sigh and a quiet chuckle.
>>Tilting her head to the side, she watched him quietly for a few moments. "Now, as to why I'm still here?" She shrugged, not really knowing the answer to that one herself. "I suppose I really had nothing better to do."<<
At this, Arkins laughed again, closing his eyes as he did. He shook his head with a bemused smile across his face before speaking. "Now that Evadne, is probably the saddest thing I've heard you say. Nothing better to do than chit-chat with someone you've never met? And mind you, I use chit-chat very loosely. More along the lines of exchange blunted insults and vague threats," Arkins began with another slight chuckle. "Guess you don't have much in the way of a good pal eh? Feeling the urge to stick around and make time with some a**hole berk who's anything but polite. Not my idea of a fun time. But then, I'm forced to interact with you, you chose to come down and pester me. And then to continue on, even though it was plain we weren't remotely getting along. Or is this just how you play with the boys you like?" He continued, jokingly.

All that Evadne heard coming out of Arkins' mouth was a lot of blah blah blah. She couldn't remember the last time she'd met someone who talked so much. Or actually, talked just to hear themselves speak. It'd been a long time - but whoever it had been before probably couldn't have talked more than the man behind the bars.
Her brows knitted together in a mix of amusement and annoyance as Arkins yammered on. Good God! Did he EVER shut up? Apparently not. She looked over at Kasim, who had been oddly quiet... Though he was probably just listening to the ... well bickering/conversation the two were tossing back and forth at each other.
Sighing, Evadne looked back at Arkins and finally held up a hand. "Look, I don't know what your problem is, and frankly I honestly couldn't care less... But, whatever. I obviously made a mistake of coming down here. And, I'll be rectifying that... Well right about now." She flashed him a bright cheerly smile and leaned in toward his cell. "You have a wonderful night... Night!" And with that, she spun on her heel and left the way she'd come in.
(sorry about how long it took to respond to this. I've just been... blah as of late.)
