Time: 4:20 am Date: October 2nd, 2008 Place: BPRD, Lower hallways leading to the garage Status: Open to Hellboy, Liz, Abe and Nuala only.
((OOC: I will be temping Manning for a little while.))
“This is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous, I’m not running a side show.” Manning sighed and ran a hand through what was left of his hair and dug into a pocket to pull out a pack of tums. “Though if I were, I would make a ridiculous amount of money but that’s not the case here. Abe. Abe? Am I bad Director?” Tom turned and faced the tall blue man before fidgeting with the package in an attempt to dislodge a single pink chalky piece. “I don’t ask for much.” He succeeded and popped the tablet into his mouth and crunched soundly. “I just want everyone to show up, do their job and go home. That’s it.”
Abraham studied the frazzled director with an inquisitive stance and carefully folded his gloved hands at his waist, a simple gray folder tucked into the crook of his arm. He took a step back to allow Manning the room to walk up and down the hall and vent. He knew it without needing to look. Sometimes it was just good to talk and have no one try to pacify it with rhetoric. Abe shrugged his shoulders softly and nodded sympathetically. A good deal of their team was already assembled and waiting. And wait they had for over half an hour on brother Red. Agent after agent had been sent up to check on the big guy but all had come back with the same thing. Give him time.
“And what do I get in return?” Manning turned and started down the length of the hall in the opposite direction, passing the fishman. “Nothing. Not a thing, not even a thank you or a ‘good job Manning’” He sighed again. “I know this is a thankless job, heaven knows I know that but,” He popped another tums into his mouth and frowned.
Abe tilted his head and casually shifted the folder in his arms to one and raised a hand towards Tom. “Thank you Director Manning,” he commented. “For… being there for us.” He raised his hand slightly in a cheer and the motion felt odd but the feeling was well meant.
Thomas stopped and glanced at him before solemnly nodding his head. “Thank you Abe, you always know what to say. What is it!” A single agent nearly tugged on the man’s arms to garner his attention and as soon as it was he visible flinched.
“Uh sir, Agent Crag. Red says…give him more time.”
Sapien sighed along with Manning and shifted his attention to the folder in hand. He untwisted the string that held it closed and peeked inside at the thick layer of papers and photographs.

Liz sat in the public bathrooms, in the stall near the doorway. She could hear Manning's rambling echoing, the same old whining he always did. She rolled her eyes, feeling her stomach, sitting on the floor, still feeling her head spin. Her doctors assured her this was normal, even so early into the pregnancy, but she just wasn't so sure about that, woman's intuition telling her otherwise.
She stood up, and dusted herself off as she left the bathroom, trying to keep up a brave face, she had a mission to do. She dreaded this mission not because of the dangers that laid ahead for her but because one of her partners in the mission was big and red and happened to be someone she was trying to avoid. It was in inevitable, they were bound to cross paths sometime or another, she might as well get it over with now.
She spotted Abe standing in the hallway with Manning, looking over some folders and notes. She made an inward sigh, sucking in some air before walking over to them. >>“Uh sir, Agent Crag. Red says…give him more time.” << She heard Abe and Manning give a weak sigh, before clearing her throat abit “Hey guys, whats on the agenda today?” she asked casually as she could. Feeling herself wanting to runaway already, because of red. She fixed her leather jacket abit, pretending to not feel the overwhelming nausea falling in on her. It was nothing, she kept trying to assure herself.

“Hey guys, what’s on the agenda today?”
Abraham turned a heartbeat before she spoke and looked up from his nosing around in the files and bowed his head in a greeting. The breathing apparatus that normally encased his neck was visibly absent as it had been for several months allowing the lettuce like gills to move freely and allowed for better range of motion. He casually glanced towards Manning as the man pulled the agent with him, his voice scolding as it slowly faded further down the hall.
“Faeries, it seems. Or at least a good deal of suspecting. A little town off the Killary harbor in Ireland. Several children have gone missing from their homes but it seems as though that’s not… all of it.” Abe shifted the folder and passed it off to Liz for her to take a look. With his free hand he dug into one of the many pockets of his bureau belt. “There is also a suspected poltergeist haunting on top of this, though the details are sketchy.” He pulled free a small package and held it up to the light to reveal several pre packaged orange tablets.
“Ginger pills. For airsickness.” He offered them to his friend along with the folder. “I thought they might help. Take two now and two more in four hours.” Abe’s hand hovered, holding onto the package and nodded before Liz could say anything. “I also have extra strength Tylenol if needed. It’s going to be a long flight.” The tall man turned his head slightly as Manning came back, Agent Craig still in tow and wincing as he carried the Director’s cup of coffee for him.
“You,” Thomas started staring at Abe and Liz before continuing in a softer less harsh tone of voice. “Go get him, I’m not going to stand here all day while he lollygags.”

Try to see it my way, Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on? While you see it your way, Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone. We can work it out, We can work it out
The snappy 60's song drifted out of an extensive sound system set up through the mess of Hellboy's room. The demon himself lay in his pickup truck bed. A black and orange cat lay curled on his chest. With his left hand he scratched the feline behind the ears and with his right he clutched an ice cold beer.
"What is this crap?" the red demon slurred. He sat up slightly, careful not to disturb the resting animal, and peered over the sides of the truck bed at the stereo tower. As if on cue, the song ended. Much to Hellboy's dismay, another song started up.
I know you wanna leave me, but I refuse to let you go If I have to beg and plead for your sympathy, I don't mind coz' you mean that much to me
A platter of forgotten food lay on a pile of crates next to the bed. Spotting it, Hellboy snatched it up and flung it at the sound system, sending day-old oatmeal and toast flying everywhere. The stereo toppled over with a crash, startling the cat on the demon's chest. With a hiss, the cat dug its claws into the red flesh and propelled itself away from Hellboy and behind a pile of broken TVs.
The end result only made him more angry. Not only had he made an even bigger mess of his room than it had been before, but one of the younger agents and recommended him crappy music. As he lifted himself off the bed, he involuntarily crushed his still half full can of beer, resulting in it spraying everywhere. He let out an aggravated sigh and grabbed another one from a crate as he made his way out the door.
Hellboy was determined to find whoever had given him the burned CD and make him pay. He wasn't sure how, but the punishment had to suffice. Maybe he'd lock him in the library and have him listen to something of Abe's choosing? The music that Blue listened to could be downright painful sometimes.
With his train of thought switching tracks, he stumbled down the winding hallways. He eventually came to a branch. Downing the remaining half of his beer, he lurched down the corridor to his left. Quick footsteps interrupted his thoughts. He looked up in time to see Manning and an agent he had just seen not too long ago turn the corner at the other end of the hall. Hellboy paused for a moment in a dazed stupor and then backed out and staggered down the opposite way.

>>“Faeries, it seems. Or at least a good deal of suspecting. A little town off the Killary harbor in Ireland. Several children have gone missing from their homes but it seems as though that’s not… all of it.” << Liz took the file from Abe and looked it over "Faeries..." she murmured, nodding her head at this in approval almost. >>“There is also a suspected poltergeist haunting on top of this, though the details are sketchy.”<< She looked up at him quickly her face went blank but the wheels in her head turning as he said this "...Poltergeist?" she repeated before seeing Abe holding up some orange tablets to her, she felt her stomach turn abit.
>>“Ginger pills. For airsickness. I thought they might help. Take two now and two more in four hours.” Abe’s hand hovered, holding onto the package and nodded before Liz could say anything. “I also have extra strength Tylenol if needed. It’s going to be a long flight.” << Liz looked at him for a moment. " You never cease to amaze me Abe, your even more prepared then I am when it comes to this pregnancy thing" she replied taking the tablets holding them. "....I mean...maybe you should be the one carrying them for me eh?" if only it could be that easy for her. Her small smile fade hearing Manning and his annoyed tone >>“You,Go get him, I’m not going to stand here all day while he lollygags.”<< Liz looked over to Abe, her expression withdrawn and wideyed "...Im sure he will be here in a moment..." she replied, her voice a whisper, barely heard. She dreaded this...

((OOC: Haha, I said poltergeist, but I meant banshee ^^ ) "...Poltergeist?"“Ionized air or the real thing. I managed to do a little research before being called down and the soil neighboring the village is low in lime and high in peat which really doesn’t mean much to the common observer but peat soil is low in nutrients and with the recent rains timed with the cycle of the moon and the fjord’s glacial origins it…” He paused, taking a much needed breath of air and debates over his words. He quickly categorized the numerous information he was mentally going through. “Well, it wouldn’t be implausible that the faeries are using glamour to disguise themselves. That or there really is a- “ Abe started and glanced down at his friend. “Did I say poltergeist?” A hand came up momentarily to drum thoughtfully against his chin. “I believe I did. Though there are some cases where banshee activity has been categorized as a deviant female poltergeist but… I… oh dear.” Mistakes were few and far apart for the water creature and he was uncharacteristically distracted at the thought of the princess accompanying them. Abraham reached the hand out and waved it quickly. “Please, don’t tell Manning. He has enough to worry about as it is.” "You never cease to amaze me Abe, you’re even more prepared then I am when it comes to this pregnancy thing," she replied taking the tablets holding them. "....I mean...maybe you should be the one carrying them for me eh?"The hand drew back to his side and curled around the thick belt at his waist. “I, read a few books,” he confided and his head dipped, still in info mode. “The male seahorse is known for being the one carry- What?” If it was possible, Abraham’s eyes widened behind the water logged goggles before the realization of the joke was understood and he turned towards Manning’s weary voice. "...I’m sure he will be here in a moment..."“Liz?” Abe raised a hand as if to reach for her shoulder, the slender fingers lingering in midair. “If you are not ready, no one would fault you if you wished to stay behind.” He studied her and nodded at her reply and returned his gaze to their Director. This was not exactly as he hoped it would go, the world needed to be saved on a daily basis but just sometimes he wished it would take a break to allow the little family of close knit oddities to save their own. “I will get him,” he replied and looked to Liz for full permission.

(ooc: lmaoo I was gonna say , but i thought it was banshees ;p )
Liz watched Abe give off another one of his encyclopedia paragraphs on the topic of Poltergeists, why did the mentioning of a poltergeist make her feel abit uneasy. Perhaps with her current situation in Europe. She shrugged it off still in a glazed daze staring at Abe before he made an odd pause >> “Did I say poltergeist? I believe I did. Though there are some cases where banshee activity has been categorized as a deviant female poltergeist but… I… oh dear. Please, don’t tell Manning. He has enough to worry about as it is...<< Liz looked at him as if she wanted to mention something to him that was hanging on her chest like weights but, she made a smile and replied "It's alright, you say poltergeist, I say banshee...tomato, to-mato..." she crossed her arms and watched Abe. "Got another little watery maiden on your mind?" she teased guessing he was distracted lately by the princess.
>> “The male seahorse is known for being the one carry- What?” << She laughed abit watching him, seeing him begin to catch the joke just now before her smile faded going back to Manning. Never really amused much by him.
>>"Liz..."<< she felt Abe's slender hands wrap around her abit, comforting her. >>“If you are not ready, no one would fault you if you wished to stay behind..."<< she watched him as if her mind and heart was debating whether she should or not. >>“I will get him,” << Her heart took over and replied back with a "no." She began shaking her head a weak and tired sigh coming out of her mouth "No no Abe ...I'll go with you...this is strictly professional right? I would check in on any other member of out team just the same if they were late..." she tried to sound as cold and collected as she could and really, it was quite convincing. Her face went blank before heading down the hallway, much to there surprise by her answer.

"Got another little watery maiden on your mind?"
Abraham attempted to look indignant but only succeeded in appearing hopelessly guilty with a drop of his head and the slight rise of his shoulders. He fiddled absently with the edge of a glove, pulling it cover a sliver of his inner wrist. The sharp contrast of blue and black absorbed him momentarily but it was fruitless to keep his mind occupied and he listened quietly to Manning’s voice as he muttered to himself about coffee and associates.
"No no Abe ...I'll go with you...this is strictly professional right? I would check in on any other member of out team just the same if they were late..."
Thomas’s mouth never cracked from the firm frown he gave the two thirds of a team and gestured to the single agent that held his coffee. He blew across the top and raised it to his mouth before debating the nearly searing steam and settled with holding it chest high. He raised a none existent eyebrow at Liz then to Abe then back to the pyrokintic. Drama issues of the freaks was always a problem and when it involved one of their three major stars of the bureau, it never ended well.
Abe looked up curling his head in a lopsided manner before falling into step behind the woman. He quickly made up the ground with his longer strides and drew abreast. “Liz,” he started before falling silent. What could he say that wouldn’t feel awkward and rehearsed and what could he, above all, say about a relationship. He simply wanted his family to be happy and healthy. “He’s there.” Abe changed his tactics and pointed down a hall opposite of Red’s room. “And… oh dear.” The fishman flexed his fingers. “He’s had a lot to drink.”

Liz frowned back at Manning, seeing his always less then cheerful expression come across his face when she said this. She raised an eyebrow back to him, before calmly responding "There won't be any...outbursts or...conflict" she fixed her coat again as she spoke. She was almost certain that was the main concern on Manning's mind at the moment of her and HB getting into one of their epic battles between each other.
Liz walked sternly down the hallway her expression blank but her eyes troubled. She could feel Abe quickly catching up with her >>“Liz,” << she didn't respond, the atmosphere all the more tense. She didn't know what exactly she was going to say to HB, but he had no right to just sit around and make them wait when they were supposed to be on a mission.
>>“He’s there. And… oh dear...he’s had a lot to drink<< Liz turned to Abe in the hallway, seeing him pointing to a hallway, she could already hear the sound of music drifting down the hallways, guessing Red was already quite wasted, moping around like a sulky teenager. "Great..." she trailed off turning to Abe "Let's just get this over with, we have a mission right? " she tried to act as calmly as she could but her voice was wavering like it always did before having a blowout with Red.

Manning studied the young woman, a solid worn crease marred his otherwise solid forehead. His coffee quivered slightly as he adjusted his hold on the thin paper cup that held back steaming liquid. “Make sure of that, you’re the only that can.” The normal harsh hue of his voice softened uncharacteristically before he lifted his drink to his mouth and took a sip. “Jesus wept! Why does this taste like tar and battery acid? Agent Crag? Get over here!” Thomas’ voice echoed after Liz and the fishman as they walked.
"Great...Let's just get this over with, we have a mission right?”
Abraham nodded slowly and allowed his dear Bureau sister to take the lead, which allowed him to take in the shape of her body and the slight protruding belly. It was naturally bigger then the picture in the medical book he had taken a look through, the diagram only showed a single birth. He watched the way she walked and shifted her weight, the bulk of the coat hiding the telltale signs. He even briefly wondered when the last time she had seen the Bureau doctor, he wouldn’t pry and purposefully kept himself in the dark of the babies genders
“Time,” Abe stated. “Is needed, by all.” Drawing his hand up he gave a slow easy pass in front of him and curled his finger to allow a single long index finger to point in the direction Red had taken. “He loves you so much and one doesn’t need to be psychic for that.”

Hellboy's head was reeling. Like always, he had had much more to drink then he intended, and the lurching movement he made as he stumbled down the hallway had set the room spinning. It wasn't a sensation he was accustomed to, and it hit him a little harder than it should have. Hellboy found himself unable to stand without getting the feeling that he was on a boat, so he flopped to the floor with an ungodly loud thump.
And so Hellboy sat, leaning against the wall so he wouldn't topple backwards. He gazed sadly at the empty beer can held, wishing that it would refill itself. That was what he needed, he decided. Another beer would surely fix the problem with his head.
Having made up his mind, the great demon climbed laboriously to his feet. He paused when he got to his feet and watched the hallway sway until he felt he was used to it, and then set off in the direction of his room, keeping a hand braced against the wall for support.
Hellboy turned the corner and spotted two figures coming straight toward him. It took a bit of squinting, but he just barely made out the form of Abe and... someone else...
"Liz!" Hellboy shouted a bit louder than usual. He pushed off from the wall and rushed to meet his wife, looking not until a giant puppy. As soon as he was within arm's distance, he gathered her in a hug, taking care not to crush her. As his brain was addled by the booze, he misjudged his strength and squeezed her a bit harder than he meant to. "How are you, Babe?"
