The Handler
Name:
Tei Ling Bual
Nickname:
Tei
Classification:
Bakeneko
A Bakeneko (literally 'monster cat') is a japanese demon-like creature with two distinct forms; that of a large house-cat with or without a forked tail, the latter making the creature a nekomata, and that of a normal human. They originate as cats and are said to be created by the cat being let age to a certain age, kept as a pet for a certain length of time, allowed to grow to a certain size or their tail to grow to a certain length. With the latter two, their tail will fork and they become nekomata (literally 'forked cat'). Their original form is usually that of a Japanese Bob Cat, reknowned for their short tails, in contrast to the Bakeneko. They have various mischievous powers, from creating ghostly fireballs to devouring their past mistress and warping their human form to replace her. They are known to stand on two legs in feline form but to blend in they prefer not to. The exact age for a cat to become a bakeneko is 13 years, or weigh 1 kan (8 pounds) - various sources
Gender:
Male
Age & Birthday:
14th November (date he became a Bakeneko - 13 years as a cat + 10 years as a Bakeneko = 23 years old)
Appearance:
Tei is reasonably tall when in his human form. His face has high, smooth cheek bones with a pale, almost wooden coloured. His hair is halfway to shoulder in length and could be described as feathery in texture, and raven black in colouring. His eyes are slanted with a Korean appearence to them. However the pupils are slitted like a cat's and they appear golden brown. His body is slim and athletic with strong arms and legs, finished in lithe feet and spidery hands respectively.
When in feline form, Tei resembles an overly large tom-cat, approximately 2ft in length (and 4.5ft when the tail is counted). His pelt is a thick ebony-black colour with a small white tip on his tail. The second from the outside toe on each paw is also white. He measures 1ft at the shoulder, and has a slanted-featured head, with narrow golden eyes. His ears are large, with slightly tufted tips and the entire appearence is that of an overgrown pet, exempting his tail. The end of his tail appears to be beginning to fork ever so slightly, mapping his progress towards becoming a nekomata, or forked tailed cat.
Attire:
When not working in the regiments, Tei favours casual gear from leading highstreet stores, his usual attire consisting of jeans and some t-shirt, covered up by a hoodie, usually slightly faded from use. He enjoys wearing light sneakers or running shoes on his feet, occasionally interchanging these with white tennis shoes, depending on his mood. He prefers to wear sunglasses to mask the obvious slit pupiled look he has aquired as a Bakeneko. When as a casual cat, he wears a small, brown leather collar with a disk bearing the inscription "Tei" on it.
When in work mode, Tei prefers to don the dark, close to skin clothes usually associated with agents. He's not stereotypical, just wears them for comfort. His feet usually wear compact running or hiking boots, depending on his location, and he wears a belt to hold his equipment. Tei also wears an 'X' shaped strap-like gear across his back to hold his twin swords. Though as a cat, he wears a small, black leather collar with a disk bearing the inscription "Felid" on it.
The Creation
Name:
Felid
Power List:
1. Shapeshifting (Humanoid)
2. Elemental (Pyrokinetics)
Detailed Power:
1. As due to the Bakeneko's nature, Tei can shapeshift at will into his tom cat appearence. Since this is smaller than his human appearence, he merely shrinks down whilst the bones in his body distort to reshape as a cat's skeleton. This way he does not destroy his clothes. This transformation takes a matter of seconds in which he seems to ungulate down, as if melting and reforming in his new shape.
2. The pyrokinetics half come with the Bakeneko. He can conjure small fireballs on his palms or paws depending on his form. The size of the fireball ranges from a flickering flame at his finger tip to a large translucent ball of flames approximately a foot in diameter. The distance of the flight path of each ball of flame is constistent depending on its size, the largest ball able to travel up to 50 metres, whilst the smaller 'pocket' fire balls in a range of 5 metres. The balls are translucent and appear to be a ghostly blue in colour, mirroring the legend of the Bakeneko.
The Potential
Alignment/Occupation:
Nuada's regiment
Weapons:
- Teeth/Claws
- Serrated edged throwing disks
- Two rapier-like blades that are used in each hand
Personality:
Tei is mostly a reserved personal, with a watchful eye and quick hands when it comes to solving a problem. He enjoys working on delicate puzzles, anything from assembling a miniature rocket to fixing a jet engine. He's a good mechanic and can quickly see the situation from more than one point of view. He rarely smiles properly, most of the time it is a leer. Tei can appear neutral, but he's leant against the darker side for now.
However, his weaknesses are probably the reclusiveness of his personality. He doesn't socialize very much, so he lacks skills like public speaking and, to put it plainly, speaking to those of the opposite gender. Tei hides it well, but he's morbidly afraid of having a conversation with a female, since he often gets uptight and awkward around them. He is much more relaxed in his feline form, knowing that he looks like a cat, not an awkward Korean youth.
Skills:
- Speaks Korean and Japanese/Chinese as well as English
- Extremely good at fixing and customising cars
Strengths:
- Speed and agility, in both forms
-Stealthiness, coupled with silence
Weaknesses:
- Speaking to large groups of people
- Conversing with women
- Bad social skills
The Story
History:
Tei was born a cat in South Korea, amid conflict between two battling elemental groups; Earth and Water. They were fighting for control over a stretch of land, majority of it being marshland or bogs, where supposedly there was some kind of treasure. Tei was a cat belonging to the leader of the Earth tribe, and he realised their battle was fruitless. There was no hidden treasure under the marsh. He conveyed this to his master and the Earths withdrew, which turned to be their triumph. Everything was pretty quite then, until Tei became a thirteen year old cat.
This age worried the group that he belonged in, as he began to experience changes in his own behaviour. He often voiced thoughts aloud, in Korean, he stood on his hind legs a lot and his tail elongated. He became a feared member of his own territory, especially after he erupted into a human ar one point. Tei decided, now he had the benefit of humanism, to leave his clan and seek better civilisation. He spent the next ten or so years blending into human sociaty, whilst working on building himself up as something worth it. He heard about Nuada's forces that were in need of swelling, and has decided that they sound like a worthy place to test his aquired skills.
Don't know if you want an example roleplay post or not!
