THE HANDLER
NAME: Jacob Shan Roe
NICKNAME: Jake, Mr. Roe
CLASSIFICATION: Centaur;; Thoroughbred
GENDER: Male
AGE & BIRTHDAY: January 26, aged 21
APPEARANCE:
Jake is a magnificent creature upon sight, this peculiar specimen is evidently crossed between the common man and the Equine. This half-human and half-animal composition has led many people to treat them as luminal beings, caught between the two natures.
Incredibly, the Centaur species is known for its strength, speed and intelligence, but the main feature of the creature that is seen as its main attribute is the height. The combination of both the human and the horse make up it a tall one. Jake, like most other Centaurs of his kind, stands from the base of his front hooves to the tip of his human head around 7 foot, 4 inches tall.
Jake is indeed a tough man, his human side consists of displaying some muscle; but nothing elaborate, but enough to render him somewhat strong in his line of duty. But the true powerful feature of this stern male is that of his overall appearance. His eyes; a crystal sapphire blue which is the other main oddity of his appearance, as they stand out most of all. The fine locks upon his head are a smooth soft brown, unkempt, short and free; much like his spirit and nature. His ears have a strange identical feature to that of elves, slightly pointed at the tips.
The strength which he has is of course from his horse structure, most of it being displayed via that half. Short silken brown fur covers his entire fore half and rump, blending into a darkened toned at the ends of each of those equine legs; upon his front two legs at the base are two white patches that resemble socks. The tail upon his horse half is a simple brown, very fine and thin hair; also brown with occasional white combined. His hooves are but a simple dark brown but are excessively sturdy for his travels.
ATTIRE:
Just enough to provide some sense of coverage, the male wears a simple range of T-Shirts when he is off duty. For his upper body half of his human side, he wears generic jackets and overcoats. He is always and forever seen wearing gloves (even when he is off duty), black leather and fingerless tipped to permit him firm grip onto his blades better, among other things. Jake also wears a necklace; which resembles strength around his neck; it has no official relevance to his attire, but he enjoys wearing it.
In regards to his equine half, Jake covers himself with a simple cloth overcoat (the material is fine black, with a distinctive cut and brittle effect on the edges) for comfort and coverage. This is attached around his human waist and covers his entire back and rump (think of a natural horse winter coat).
When on duty, his entire attire changes. For the upper body half, he still wears his under layer of his T-Shirt, but his jackets are different it consist of thin leather for a sort of professional attire or effect for the BPRD. A belt is always worn, where his two blades reside (one on either side) around his human waist. He wears arm guards on both of his arms, more leather, but seemingly effective when needed the most; particularly great for blocking and defence.
Over the top of his equine cloth coat, Jake has a sort of base protection layer, a layer of armour. Think of medieval; this is the sort of armour that the Centaur wears; mostly based on tradition of the Roman period. This armour is simple steel, smithed and produced by himself, crafted quite carefully with layer over layer (plates) to protect his back and his hide. He wears no protection over his equine legs, simply because it will affect his running and slow him down.
The Centuar's toughness and survivability are legendary. The best place for this tank of a hero is in the center of combat, where his close range skills and massive vitality can be put to use. Jacob's powerful hooves can incapacitate any enemies foolish enough to go toe-to-toe with him for several crucial seconds. Powerful muscles from both regions of the Equine side and Torso provide Jacob with extreme strength. Capable of wearing the heaviest and toughest of armours, to Jacob, it is considered natural weight where as to others, it would be somewhat unbearable (depending on the item). As a Centaur, Jacob's other key feature in his strength is the ability to let others mount him whilst providing essential defence on his own. He's one tough cookie.

THE CREATION
NAME: Bronco (Meaning ‘Mustang’)
POWER LIST: None
DETAILED POWER: None
THE POTENTIAL
ALIGNMENT/OCCUPATION: BPRD
WEAPONS:
Although the era of the BPRD ranges specifically in some sophisticated weapons (in Hellboy's case) such as a broad range of guns which are developing, Jake's choice in weaponry are blades; large fine swords. For his species, his ability to run at fast speeds and his equine body strength leading to his human side makes up for his ability in using these swords. He carries two blades with him at all times, one on either side of his belt (which resides upon his waist of his human half). There are no other weapons like his blades (which are his main priority) that he carries with him.
Although he does not carry other elaborate weaponry, he himself is like his own personal weapon. His hooves are powerful, and they can strike harshly; both the front and the back, especially if he is provoked enough to use them. Much like the common horse, they will provide a strong impact and mark; although deadly, he has never come to the extent of using or killing anyone with them in his lifetime, mostly because his choice of weaponry mainly consists of his swords, preferring to use his hands, rather than his hooves.
PERSONALITY:
Almost immediately, Jake can be classified as sociable and welcoming; even if his very appearance can be somewhat startling and 'new' to some. More than anything, this gentleman enjoys conversations with pretty much anybody and is open about his thoughts and emotions, especially to those he can easily form a bond and trust with. Now, Jake is especially easy to get along with, and everyone can see that, even at first greetings. His warm and kindred nature makes him a respectable and reliable associate of the BPRD.
He can be very stubborn when he wants to be, and will actually do anything that he can to assist others when they are in need, even when others debate it. It is obvious that Jake cares for the welfare of others more than himself, and in being a powerful being both in heart and nature; he will do absolutely anything that he can to help, even if it does mean risking his own life.
When in a proper conversation with someone, he is an incredible listener, and extremely intellectual with his words when he wants to be. Throughout the course of his years, Jake has managed to learn much in his experiences, and has taught himself many things, including socialism, respect for others, and having an understanding of the world around him. He puts his friends before himself, and will listen accordingly before speaking. He knows his place within the BPRD and will obey, but it does not mean he does not have the right to speak his mind, and if given the opportunity, he will do.
In every creature and being out there, everyone has their flaws and advantages in regards to their personality. Some people like certain things, and they hate others. Even though he may look different from your average being, it does not mean that he does not feel the same as everyone else.
SKILLS:
In being a Centaur, it limits him dramatically from certain things that a natural human being can do. Yet, it does not stop this male from trying.
Jake has the ability to wield, not one, but two blades. His firm fingers make for ideal grasps around the weapons. He’s quick, nimble and knows his place when during fights or during defence. Although he has not had many years to train in the process of using the blades, he is learning new techniques and experiencing new things everyday as he trains himself ideally.
It is known, that Centaurs are true blooded warriors for their power and stamina. Jake was able to teach himself quite carefully at his own hand in craftsmanship; the ability to manifest smithing and create his own weapons and armour. In being surrounded in sellers and producers in the Troll Market for so many years, he was able to teach himself from these experiences. Years of training in this has also permitted the Centaur to now create very sturdy weaponry and armour.
Although it might not be used by some people now, it certainly is used by himself still today.
STRENGTHS:
The unique trait of Jake that makes him special is his pure and strong heart. People seem to become intrigued and allured by his ability to not care about his own welfare, and care more about others. It is also his ability to speak in an intellectual manner when within a serious conversation; he can appear somewhat dumbfounded first of all, and then turn dramatically into a seemingly sophisticated smart male when something really matters. But that is not all that makes him special; it is the fact that people can make such a strong bond so easily with the male, which makes him a fond liking to so many people who see him as a human, rather than a Centaur.
WEAKNESSES:
His horrible flaw is his ability to get seemingly aggressive to people who are either disobedient or uncaring to others. He hates people who care very little about people’s feelings or have very little respect. He will act accordingly onto this matter, and can become quite ferocious if provoked, which is quite dangerous; especially in regards to his species and its ability to conflict at least some potential damage. He is not afraid to take action and get the message across; but he has never come to the extent of yelling; only displaying anger in his voice.
THE STORY
HISTORY:
Behind every being, there is a story, and for some, you can just look within their eyes, and all is told and revealed, their experiences, their pain, their happiness, everything and anything that has happened. For others, it can be hidden deep within the depths of the soul, forever hidden in the abyss, never to see the light of day. But the most powerful thing about a beings life story, is not simply telling it as it is, but the way that it is told. Your eyes continue to scan the pages, or your ears seem to perk at every word that you hear, eager to hear more and more, until finally, you can picture yourself within their world, seeing it through their eyes the way that they have experienced it.
Some lives can start out great, with no problems at all, but others can start out rough, but each life is a journey, taking someone down a path that leads to the unknown.
Jake’s birth was merely for profit, and for ensuring the survival of his species. The Centaur is a rare species within the mythical world, but it is no different from all the other creatures in this world that we know of. Think of Hellboy, he himself is a unique and lone individual. But there are a few Centaurs in the world, and it is the fact that people rarely see them is what makes them so special compared. People know what they are capable of, the strength that they have and the indifference is what makes them a demand.
Even from his birth within the under depths of the Troll Market, Jake was a demand for his individuality. His parents were unknown to him, but to the one creature that demanded money for his worth, they knew all about them. -- It is told that Jake’s mother and father were not free spirits and were limited and confined to commanded duties in the Market, and were trying everything that they could to make a better future to preserve their true nature. But how did Jake come to be sold as nothing but work in the Troll Market? His parents sold him to it. Sounds dark doesn’t it? But not every life can be rainbows and unicorns I’m afraid. Even they themselves needed some source of income for survival; even if it means selling out their own son to keep them alive.
But the advantage (to his parents) was that they were able to observe him every day, to ensure his safety. They did care for Jake; they are his parents after all. They demanded that he was not to leave the preserve of the Troll Market itself, and that they were able to see him. This was accepted and the process began.
It was not long before he was purchased. From childhood, Jake’s ‘owner’ was somewhat of a grizzly guts, and he was dubbed Melechon, and he wanted nothing more than to get what he wanted. If he asked for something, Jake would bring it, working to provide him satisfaction as best he could. Minutes, Hours, Days and Weeks proceeded to continue with this same method of work, simply giving Melechon what he desired, and when nothing more was needed, Jake was given time to collect his thoughts.
But everyone grows. This process continued for years, and as his strength grew, so did Melechon’s demands. Every week within these years that passed, Jake began to lose his fears, and developed anger and frustration, among other emotions that confused him. With the free time that he was given when all of Melechon’s demands were done with for the day, Jake’s time to allocate on his thoughts was well spent, and his skills developed as he watched fellow marketers and sellers on their business. One specific job had caught his eye, and it was that of weaponry.
Every day when his time was free, he would spend it studying this particular stall; and on special occasions when the stall owner was not there, the half-human half-horse would approach and study it furthermore, his fingers practicing tediously at the smithing process. Of course, when you practice at something for so long with all the free time that you have (and nothing else to do, or believing you are trapped forever) you become better and better before you are perfect. Everyday consisted on obeying commands, and training himself in smithing. Not once though did he think that he could just... leave.
He was unable to do anything else in regards to his life instead of obey the man that bought him in the first place. Jake was too overwhelmed in his duties most of the time to put into precaution that he had a chance at freedom so many times, but had left it to the last minute when he was unable to cope, and eventually burst.
His mother and father are both named Hewlett and Jamie, and watched over him the entire time; although they were stricken with self-hatred at what they had done in regards to selling their son to the market, there was nothing they could do to assist their son, except for wait for the right moment where he himself would realize and then, they could help him, preferring him to have freedom rather than themselves.
But it got to the stage where his instincts kicked in, and the demands for freedom were strong. This new intention was locked in his head so firm, that he began building his own armour, practicing on scraps. As he sprouted into adolescence, his brain began developing slowly to the scenario around him, and he soon began to understand the concepts and dangers of the Troll Market; the true reality. But that was not all. For being slave and apparently a ‘prisoner’ to Melechon for so long, the poor Centaur was locked up within his own thoughts of doom that he had no idea or intention of the possible freedom that he could have. That was when the idea hit him.
Using his newly founded skill, Jake was able to produce his own armour to protect him, and with such anger that had built up over the years, the teentaur eventually burst. Somehow, people expected it to happen at one stage, but as Jake demanded his leave from the depths of this hellhole, prepared and demanding, Melechon resisted and attempted to retrieve his ‘prize’. But, don’t forget about Jake’s parents. Even though they were growing older, it did not mean they did not care for him still, and in defence, assisted their son to permit him the freedom out of the market.
Of course, Jake had no idea who these other Centaurs were, and simply fled, relieved and at peace. His demand for helping others in the same possible situation as himself, or even worse, intrigued him, and that was of course what led him to the BPRD, believing that everyone deserves a chance at a better future, even if his own past was horrible, it doesn’t mean everyone else’s should be. Not only that, but Jake’s nature was still pure and gentle despite his experiences in those years he had, and in general, he would rather help others, instead of help himself.
Jake managed to obtain his freedom at the age of 15, still but a teenager. The rest of his life was spent practicing more on his smithing, and building in his skills in weaponry and blades in attempts to get into the BPRD to assist them.
His training never ceased as the years passed. He had allocated himself in the mythical realm and region to blend and become welcomed. Although he did return to the Troll Market several times for support for his weaponry and armour; incredibly, throughout him entering there, not once did Melechon show his face, most possibly afraid, or had finally passed on. Jacob's experiences as a boy progressed into that of man-hood as he grew older, bolder, stronger and wiser. His strength and determination grew with him as he trained himself immensely in hopes to be of assistance to the BPRD.
Others in the area had told him of their purpose and what they had done for others, and it intrigued the Centaur to become a part of the organisation.
While he trained, and raised himself up, Jacob was consisted and spent most of his times alone, despite the amount of socialism around him. His body grew ever more stronger as years progressed. For many long years, he simply trained himself in attempts to become a part of the BPRD, no other goal or aim was put on his mind, and everything else seemed forgotten.
6 Years had passed of his intense training alone, and finally at the age of 20 he attempted to join the association. Despite his indifference, Jacob was welcomed for mostly that of his body strength, unique attire and attributes, but most of all, for his strong heart. Till this day, he provides them as a helpful asset, for quick travels for those unable and a good defence for difficult tasks (if sent alone). He spends most of his days training still, studying in the Library or associating with is colleagues.
