>>"You save people who need saving. Can't really fight for a better cause than that, right?"<<
"Yeah. People like me are more of a...help. I'm not really one of the heroes. Liz is one, and..." He paused and then smiled, "I'm sure you will be, in time. And it's not just about saving people, but it's about preventing things too."
>>"That the things we fight against are probably more like us than we care to let on... things 'normal' people don't think exist?"<<
"Yes. I think that a great man who once worked here said it best. 'There are things that go bump in the night and we are the ones that bump back.' I've only been here a few months so I haven't seen too much action...But there have been some times, I have heard, when it was pretty much end of the world scenarios, and Liz with her friends stopped it." Kasim smiled gratefully at Liz.
>>"And the suit isn't as much of a mood killer as you may think, Kasim," he said with a smile, hoping he didn't sound like he was hitting on the man again... but it was the truth, regardless. "Anyway... so what about this Red, Ms. Guidicini, and Mr. Arkins you spoke of? Friends, I assume? If so, I'd be happy to met them, especially if I'm going to be working with them." <<
Kasim chuckled at the comment and looked down before looking back up at Atmos. "Um...Red is...Well....Have you heard the rumors of Hellboy?" He wanted to try to finish discussing Red as fast as possible so he wouldn't upset Liz. "A demon who works for the government? That's Red. Ms. Guidicini is Francesca Guidicini. She used to be a British Agent of Britain's BPRD-like institution. She just returned from a joint USA/UK venture in Russia. She's...She's over a hundred years old. Mr. Arkins in Anton Arkins who's a new arrival and on his first day wounded two of my fellow suits. He's being held in a cell for now. And Abe, who I mentioned, is Abraham Sapien, an Icthyo Sapien who is...quite brilliant."

Levi listened intently as Kasim spoke, his eyes widening slightly when Kasim said that Hellboy (whom he had thought to be a legend... an urban myth) was in fact real. And an Icthyo Sapien...? 'Fish man...' He pondered, wondering what this Abe would look like, that maybe he was from the mythical city of Atlantis perhaps.
Levi noted the look in Liz's eyes when Hellboy was mentioned. Maybe he was the father of the child that grew within her? The child of a demon and a firestarter should be interesting to raise. Well, regardless, it seemed that he was the source of her troubles, and Levi wished the best for them both.
What really intrigued Levi, though, was the way Kasim spoke... so eloquent, his voice charming and even. Closing his eyes, Levi turned his head away, itching the back of his neck. Now was not the time to be twitter-pated by the handsome, dark-skinned agent. "I doubt you're just 'help'," he said finally, returning his gaze to Kasim's dark eyes before looking to Liz. "And thank you, Liz... for everything that you and everyone else here have done for the people of this planet. As unnoticed as it probably has gone by the rest of the world, I am truly thankful for you and yours."
His smile broadening, Levi's eyes filled with a certain, glittering excitement. "I truly hope I can one day prove that I am capable of aiding the BPRD in its cause," he said, the dark green hues of his eyes showing through the doe-brown. "I'm sure I can 'bump back' with the best of them. Given time to get my... 'quirk'... under control, that is."

>> "I doubt you're just 'help'," he said finally, returning his gaze to Kasim's dark eyes before looking to Liz.<<
Kasim looked down sheepishly. "In the world of the BPRD, the suits are the sidekicks. Well, actually, sometimes we're the sidekicks' sidekicks." His dark skin blushed a faint red. "I actually happen to be um....a 'manny' to Mr. Arkins right now. So...pardon me if I refer to myself in a very dsimissive way. It's just my nature." He smiled softly.
>>"And thank you, Liz... for everything that you and everyone else here have done for the people of this planet. As unnoticed as it probably has gone by the rest of the world, I am truly thankful for you and yours."<<
Kasim grinned at Liz. She and the other agents never got the thanks they deserved. He thought it was good for her, and others, if they were given gratitude from people from the outside more often. Not that Levi was an outsider, but an outsider coming in...Well, it was nice to have him here.
>>"I truly hope I can one day prove that I am capable of aiding the BPRD in its cause," he said, the dark green hues of his eyes showing through the doe-brown. "I'm sure I can 'bump back' with the best of them. Given time to get my... 'quirk'... under control, that is." <<
"You will." Kasim said with certainty. "Liz here...Well, you've had your powers under some sort of control for how long? I can't quite remember, given that I've only been here a few months..." He paused and grinned. "The Bureau is excellent in their ability to search out extraordinary people that can help with individual's 'quirks,' people who've been there before. I could try and...help you find yours. I'm sure the Bureau has a directory of them or something around here."

>>"You will."<<
The certainty in Kasim's voice made a shiver run up Levi's spine. It was the first time anyone had ever had faith in his ability to control his power. It made Levi feel... warm... wanted. Like he really was becoming part of a family.
>>"Liz here...Well, you've had your powers under some sort of control for how long? I can't quite remember, given that I've only been here a few months..."<<
Smiling at Kasim, Levi watched as he spoke to Liz, once again becoming entranced by the handsome, dark-skinned man's eloquent way of speaking, the way the smile never seemed to leave his face. And when he turned to look back at Levi, he couldn't help but notice how dark Kasim's eyes were... they pulled at him.
>>"The Bureau is excellent in their ability to search out extraordinary people that can help with individual's 'quirks,' people who've been there before. I could try and...help you find yours. I'm sure the Bureau has a directory of them or something around here."<<
"I-I'd like that," Levi said with a grin, trying to make it look like he wasn't staring. "Maybe we could come back and play a game or two of b-ball too... you know, after the tour... and, whenever you're done with your shift?"
Tugging at he collar of his dress-shirt, Levi cleared his throat and glanced at Liz, hoping he didn't look as warm as he felt. "Anyway... maybe we should finish the tour first though, huh?" Why was he still hitting on Kasim? He knew that it would never be possible... ever... To have a relationship was out of his reach, he couldn't risk it. Especially with someone who was as kind as Kasim. Besides, the man wouldn't be interested in another man, right? Shaking the thought form his head, Levi concluded that it didn't matter because it would never happen. "Do you play...?" Levi asked Liz, trying to stomp on the awkward moment that was happening between he and Kasim once more. "Maybe we could all meet up and play later?"

Liz stood there her arms crossed in the training area as she watched Levi and Kasim talked amongst each other, seemed there were some flames in there between them. Something was definitely there , too bad they both seemed terribly shy with each other. Kasim turned to her >> "Regulation dress can be such a mood-killer sometimes. You have it easy, Liz." << she smiled snapping out her daze, coming back to reality once again and out of her own little world "Your right about that, I think if I had to wear a suit and tie everyday I'd use that tie of mine as a noose" she joked darkly. Watching them talk amongst each other once again.
>>"You save people who need saving. Can't really fight for a better cause than that, right?"<<
>>"Yeah. People like me are more of a...help. I'm not really one of the heroes. Liz is one, and..." He paused and then smiled, "I'm sure you will be, in time. And it's not just about saving people, but it's about preventing things too."<<
she frowned "Oh not I'm not a hero at all ...really" she replied cutting in on that comment. She was more of at the sidelines while people like Abe and Hellboy did there part to save the world..she just never saw herself as any kind of hero. "Karim isn't being very honest, everyone here does there part to save the day. Including you Kasim" she replied he was always far too modest for his own good. Feeling the warmth of them around, like a pair of good friends, it was nice not to feel alone and cutoff from the world like she usually felt. But her happiness soon faded hearing the topic of Hellboy beginning to linger up again.
>>>>"And the suit isn't as much of a mood killer as you may think, Kasim, anyway... so what about this Red, Ms.
And Abe, who I mentioned, is Abraham Sapien, an Icthyo Sapien who is...quite brilliant." <<
Liz let out a cheerful smile pretending it didn't bother her much as she added in a weak voice "Yes Abe is quite a genius with almost anything really and a such a kind heart on top of that. you will like him I'm sure" she looked over to Levi pausing >>And thank you, Liz... for everything that you and everyone else here have done for the people of this planet. As unnoticed as it probably has gone by the rest of the world, I am truly thankful for you and yours."<< she smiled shaking her head quickly "No...no...I didn't do anything Levi..really theres no need..." she replied looking at her feet a sad yet grateful smile appeared on her face, she must be emotional from the pregnancy she thought trying to write it off as that.
>>"I truly hope I can one day prove that I am capable of aiding the BPRD in its cause," he said, the dark green hues of his eyes showing through the doe-brown. "I'm sure I can 'bump back' with the best of them. Given time to get my... 'quirk'... under control, that is." <<
"You will Levi, just...don't be so quick to jump out on the fields to save the world..bad things can happen if you rush" she paused
I'm sure the Bureau has a directory of them or something around here." <<
"yes, quite a few years...Ive been able to control it. Took a long time mind you, but there were people here to help me with it and now despite a few messups here and there I haven't had much of a problem..." she trailed off becoming oddly silent when she said this. There was alto on her mind she preferred not to state right now.
She looked at Karim and Levi watching bait of flirtation between the two before Levi nervously switched the mood. Or tried to.
>>"Anyway... maybe we should finish the tour first though, huh?"<< Liz nodded "Your right, we still got alto of other places to visit" she turned to Kassi walking towards the elevator >> "Do you play...?" Levi asked Liz, trying to stomp on the awkward moment that was happening between he and Karim once more. "Maybe we could all meet up and play later?" <<
"I'm not the greatest person at physical activity but I wouldn't mind meeting up and giving it a try. Plus I think I could use the exercise " she added not feeling attractive currently, worried about gaining weight from being pregnant...it was bound to happen..it was natural and on top of that she saw th bags under her eyes getting worse...she just didn't feel very good looking but she never did much.

Levi sighed a breath of relief when Liz said that she had much more control of her powers now that she's been a part of BPRD, hen chuckled about her claim about not being all that active. "With a body like yours, I had to admit that's surprising to me," he said, following her to the elevator, standing by her side. "Someone as pretty as you, I would imagine working out every day!"
Sighing deeply he looked down at his hand, making a fist as he brought it up to his face. "I can just imagine the things I could do, once I learn ow to control... it..." he said, meaning his powers. "Bring rain to places with drought, winds to help power up wind generators, rain down lightning on those who threaten the people I care for."
Watching his fist, Levi cold feel his link to the atmosphere around him. As weak as it was with him being underground, he could still feel it in the air around him. He watched as water began to condense on his skin, making a thin mist around his closed fist. Sighing, he let it go in a whirling wisp, shaking his hand free of moisture. "I have a long way to go though," he admitted. "It seems my abilities are influenced by my emotions. Heh, it pours when I'm down in the dumps, so I try to stay as happy as one can be."
Sighing again, Levi shook his head and smiled. "So..." he said, looking to Kasim to Liz and back again. "Where to next?"

>>"I-I'd like that," Levi said with a grin, trying to make it look like he wasn't staring. "Maybe we could come back and play a game or two of b-ball too... you know, after the tour... and, whenever you're done with your shift?"<<
"The suits actually sometimes have a two-on-two tournament. Maybe later we could play and check out each other's mad skills." Kasim laughed, "And then maybe, just maybe, we could join the tourney and wipe the floor with those suits. Figuratively."
>>"Anyway... maybe we should finish the tour first though, huh?"<<
"Sure. Maybe we should go to your room and drop off your luggage first..." Kasim said absentmindedly. He noticed Levi awkwardly pulling at his collar, like Kasim had done. Wow. Kasim was glad Liz was along...it served to beak a bit of whatever awkwardness was crowding the two men.
>>"Oh not I'm not a hero at all ...really." Liz said.<<
"Oh hush! Like I haven't heard how you destroyed all those Samael beasts? Or killed all those tooth-fairies?" He paused as Liz called him a hero. "Well...At least we're both modest, I suppose."
>>"I'm not the greatest person at physical activity but I wouldn't mind meeting up and giving it a try. Plus I think I could use the exercise "<<
Kasim smiled kindly. "How about we all meet back here at eight tonight? I'll be done with Mr. Arkins and ready to let loose." He chuckled and went over to where Levi had stowed his luggage, pulling them out for the man. He then watched as Levi used his amazing powers to make a fist full of fog. Kasim could admit that he was sometimes jealous of the agents with powers, and as Levi talked of helping people, Kasim was in awe of the man. How unique and unselfish of him to think of others first!
>>"So..." he said, looking to Kasim to Liz and back again. "Where to next?" <<
"Let's get these bags to your rooms...then we can wander about more freely." Kasim said, punching the elevator button.

>>"The suits actually sometimes have a two-on-two tournament. Maybe later we could play and check out each other's mad skills." Kasim laughed, "And then maybe, just maybe, we could join the tourney and wipe the floor with those suits. Figuratively."<<
Levi couldn't help the excited sparkle in his smile as Kasim accepted his invitation to come back and play a game or two. But, it quickly faded when he realized how quickly he was starting to think of the dark skinned man as a friend. Levi had promised himself a long, long time ago that he would never let himself have any friends, for their sake. But... Kasim seemed such a brave man, sweet hearted man, Levi couldn't help but like him. Even the way he talked about Liz's feats of bravery made Levi's heart beat a little faster.
Then, Kasim actually went and retrieved Levi's luggage for him! 'This guy simply can't be for real!' Levi thought to himself as he quickly accepted the burden from Kasim. If he hadn't done that, Levi figured the man would bring the luggage right to Levi's room for him! "Thanks, Kasim," he said with a bashful little smile, shouldering his duffel bag. "And I'll be here at 8. I'm looking forward to seeing your 'mad skills'."
>>"Let's get these bags to your rooms... then we can wander about more freely." Kasim said, punching the elevator button.<<
"Sounds like a great idea," Levi returned with chuckle, turning to Liz with a great big grin. "Where is your room, Liz?"

>>"Oh hush! Like I haven't heard how you destroyed all those Samael beasts? Or killed all those tooth-fairies?" He paused as Liz called him a hero. "Well...At least we're both modest, I suppose."<<
She looked over at Kasim, shaking her head quickly. She never thought much of her powers in the least. She actually liked to pretend it didn't exist most days. Though, easier said then done. "No no...the tooth-fairies...and those beasts...really...wasn't anything I just" she paused "Were both really too modest your right" she replied in defeat, looking over at Kasim.
>>"With a body like yours, I had to admit that's surprising to me," he said, following her to the elevator, standing by her side. "Someone as pretty as you, I would imagine working out every day!"<<
Liz blushed abit looking over at him quietly letting out a nervous laugh "Eh...me...uh" she stumbled for a moment "I'm...alright...I guess...." she went silent "I never really exercise..." she trailed off abit speechless but flattered.
>>"I can just imagine the things I could do, once I learn how to control... it..." he said, meaning his powers. "Bring rain to places with drought, winds to help power up wind generators, rain down lightning on those who threaten the people I care for."<<
Liz couldn't help but smile at this, looking at him make a fist, water forming on his skin as she watched quietly. She knew he would be able to make a change in the world, he had hope , his powers could help alot of people, once he learned it properly ...while hers...she frowned. All she had the power to do was destroy...really down to it...that was about it. She finally spoke watching his hand still "I'm sure you will be able to do great things Levi, trust me" she made a sweet smile at him.
She watched the pair exchange awkward comments to one another. Levi seemed pretty set on them meeting up for a game. She would love to really, just a chance to meet new people and to take her mind off things.
>>"The suits actually sometimes have a two-on-two tournament. Maybe later we could play and check out each other's mad skills." Kasim laughed, "And then maybe, just maybe, we could join the tourney and wipe the floor with those suits. Figuratively."<<
"Looks like someone has a hidden competitive side eh ?" Liz spoke up raising an eyebrow towards him, her arms crossed. "Looks like we have to teach those suits a lesson then?" abit more excited now to play. Why not?
>> "How about we all meet back here at eight tonight? I'll be done with Mr. Arkins and ready to let loose."<< She looked over at Kasim smiling "Sounds like a date" and when she said that she looked at Levi and Kasim. Hoping eventually they would hit it off more, once the awkwardness left. "And oh Arkins...I've heard ...things about that man" she added giving a side glance to Kasim when she said this. None of them..too positive. But she never met the man, so she was trying not to be too quick to judge...
>>"Let's get these bags to your rooms... then we can wander about more freely." Kasim said, punching the elevator button.<<
"Yes, I'm curious to see how well furnished it is. I'm really surprised they snazzed up my room nicely" she smirked to Levi.
>>""Where is your room, Liz?" <<
She looked at the elevator door opening, as they entered it "Oh its a couple floors up" she replied trailing off quietly. She guessed they thought it was a wise decision to keep her room well hidden from a certain red guest. How thoughtful of them. For once.
